Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

The Knight's new section head, Wynn, and their mentor Knight wait up at the front of the room for their approach, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides. Of course, when Wynn speaks, people still hush. It's just how he rolls.

I think it's very hard to not fit in with the freelancers. I'm sure you'll figure it out.

[she nods in agreement, before pointing Abbie out in the crowd.]

Yeah, Abbie. I think we've gotten a couple new people tonight.

[ abigail's nose wrinkles automatically because that's the nickname for her name and you'll notice no one calls her that.

Freelancers seem to be getting more popular. Way to go, Kate, you made us all look cool, now it's not going to be exclusive anymore. [ she shakes her head, but she's clearly teasing. ]

[She laughs a bit at that before tipping her head to the side.]

I thought the point of Freelancers was "all interests welcome."

Nah. Us or them.

[ abigail grins. ] I'm going to rescue the snack table from Stiles, do you want me to grab you anything?

[She shakes her head.]

I'm good. I'll check in with you later.
