The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

This dress doesn't exactly have any room for a pen. What do you need a pen for? [ what kind of weirdo... well. ] Are you getting someone's phone number? 'cause you should really just put it straight in the phone unless you're going for that coy thing and writing it on their hand.

No, I'd figured something out and wanted to write it down before I forgot. [She frowns, fishing for her phone.] I suppose a phone will work... I find I think better when writing things out the long way, but it's not exactly urgent. [Not while she still has a party to attend.]

...okay. [ caroline only has existential realizations at parties. ]

[Bonnie glances over at her, frowning slightly as she types into her phone.] Hmm? Everything all right?

Of course it-- are you doing math at a party?

[monosaccharide]

Chemistry, actually, but it's a reasonable mistake to make. They look pretty similar.

[She smiles and turns her phone around to show Caroline.]

And, of course, math is pretty intertwined with all the sciences. So more or less yes.

Why are you doing chemistry at a party?

[She shrugs.] I mean, it's not like I'm full on breaking out my test tubes. That would be a health hazard.

Oh yeah, total health hazard. Definitely not a hazard to your social life.

[monosaccharide]

[Bonnie gives a beleaguered sigh.] Oh, my social life. The one good thing about this place is that I'm no longer obligated to maintain one for diplomatic reasons.

[highlyemotional]

[ caroline on the other hand looks completely bewildered. ]

Sure, 'cause having test tubes and bunsen burners for your only friends is incredibly fulfilling.

I just mean I get to set my own priorities. [I mean technically she created her kingdom and never had to do anything, but she takes the responsibility seriously even when it isn't necessarily where her personal wishes lie.] Science is very important to me.
