The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ the boss hangs near the front of the room, observing the festivities silently. he probably has... a lot on his mind rn. ]

[ Gaz opted not to wear a dress, deciding she felt much more comfortable in pants. (disguise 14) Her hair is up, but messy (disguise 9), and she went without makeup, because who wants to stick a pencil close to their eye anyway?

She's a bit overwhelmed as she enters the crowded ballroom, but steels herself and walks into the fray with her head held high as if marching into battle, daring anyone to tell her she chose the wrong thing to wear. (intimidate unnatural 20) ]

[Bonnibel is pretty pleased to be out of the armor and back in something a little more her style (disguise 21). She also takes the time to fix her hair, piling it on her head in a way that keeps it out of her face while still looking elegant. Considering her hair is, like the rest of her, literally made out of gum, it's a good trick.

It still feels weird to not be wearing a crown.

There's a part of her that feels like this is a waste of time she could be using to work on science, but the rest of her knows how valuable parties can be, both to let off steam and to forge friendships and alliances. She is, after all, a politician as well as a scientist. So she holds her head high, smiles graciously, and descends into the ballroom.]

[Now that he's sans armor, Barry looks a lot more comfortable and at ease on his feet (disguise 18). He's also probably going to spend most of his night near the snack table, because damn that speedster metabolism.

That being said, Barry is super excited to talk to everyone and find out about their knightly experiences. And if given the opportunity, he will even attempt to cut a pretty mean rug. Emphasis on the "attempt" (perfom dance 6).

At least he's not ashamed of his terrible dancing skills.]

[ PARTY FOR ME!!! and other people w/e they don't matter. she dealt with other people existing during miss mystic falls, she can deal with other squires. after looking around for elena on the off chance that she'd come back, caroline (disguise 21) adjusts her dress, grabs a glass of champagne, and squares her shoulders before diving into being a social butterfly. yay party! ]

[you see this smooth bastard? Yeah, this is the one who rolled a nat 20 on that Disguise check (22 total). He doesn't need a lot of time to look this good, but he's still working on figuring out this planet and their ancient plumbing so he will be able to join the party with his floofy hair slicked back because it's still wet, and then grab a drink and start to mingle.

He's a talker, after all. And he's without BB-8 tonight so no cute droid trying to steal the limelight.]

[ It seems at odds with the very notion of knighthood, to put on something she can hardly imagine fighting anyone in, but she's not going to turn down celebration for practicality when she's had so little of the former in her life.

Though Rey has little experience with most of it herself, she has no problem stopping in the fitting room to ask for help from the other girls. Primarily by gawking her awe at how lovely they look after getting all dolled up. ]

[ It's easy after that, and by the time she comes out to the party proper, she has her hair loosened around her shoulders and a white dress on (disguise nat 20 ?? ?). She watches the dancing and reveling with all the distance of a zoologist, observing what is incomparable to any part of her life, even Maz Kanata's castle. ]

[ with a disguise check of 24, Skye is slaying it when she comes to the party later, but she keeps to the fringes instead of getting involved in conversation with anyone who'll listen long enough, a drink always in her hand but always full, scoping the crowd out with scrutiny that is thinly veiled by talking to whoever she knows that is nearby. ]

So they do this every time there's a new batch of recruits?

[ kali (disguise 16) is telling anyone that will listen one simple fact, shirley temple grasped firmly between both hands as she hovers excitedly on her tip toes. ]

[ tony is looking on the fleek (disguise 15) and knows where his place is. guess where it's at? spoilers: it's at the bar. he's getting crunk like ke$ha.]

Now this is my kind of party.

[Carol looks lovely as she touches down in the ballroom (disguise 19). She finds herself a glass of sparkling cider and looks around to get a sense of who the new batch of squires are. She heard the squiring ceremony was... interesting. But a bad squiring ceremony doesn't necessarily mean bad squires, and the party's the more fun part anyway. She heads out to mingle, smiling widely.]

[Andie's spent a lot of time away from the castle lately, but heeeeeey she's back! She definitely didn't entirely vanish without a trace! And she makes her grand reappearance in style with a nat 20 disguise check. As always, she spends her time either dancing wildly or consuming food like it's going out of style.]

[Grant isn't exactly a stranger to events like these. SHIELD didn't really throw a party for their newly recruited, but they did have their share of events to slip into undetected. Picking out something was easy. (dis 22) Opting for something in darker tones, but still keeping it to a formal approach was easy. While there are a few people he's seeking out, he's more than content to simply wander and get a feel for the crowd that surrounds him.]

[Katniss doesn't particularly want to be here, but she decides to make a quick appearance, if only to watch people from the edge of the room and get a read on the state of the people living here and get a look at all the people that have come since during her departure. Her disguise 15 check means she at least looks like she knows how to dress for this kind of thing.

She has a drink in her hand, but it still looks full. She still knows how to appreciate the food, at least, and she's easy enough to run into wherever the snacks are.]

[It was his first squiring party since... well his own, really. There was a suit laid out for him to wear, but he's not really that big on dressing up. He at least wore a jacket over his t-shirt though, so that counts. At least he's mostly shaved and has a nice face to make up for it (Dis 17).

He finds his favorite spot against the wall of the ballroom and just leans back with a drink and plans on watching everyone. He's so not a social wolf unless he has to be, after all. He wouldn't even be there, honestly, but when in Rome...]
