The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ She eyes the drink warily. ] It's bubbling. [ Drinks that bubble are seldom good news. What sort of potion is this?

Still, she takes a sip. And immediately starts coughing. ]

Eugh—! What's in this stuff?

Sugar. Lots and lots of sugar mixed with seltzer water.

[So she's not a soda person. Probably for the best.]

Yeah, I'm gonna pass on "soda."

[ Just... handing the cup back over. ]

[Shawn will take it with a shrug. Suit yourself.]

Water and booze it is, then.

Can't go wrong with water and booze.

[ Speaking of which, she gets the barkeep's attention and orders a glass of... ] What kind of booze do you recommend?

Personally? I'm a beer guy, with occasional forays into fruity drinks with umbrellas. Some say they are not manly, but I am very secure in my masculinity.

Oh are you?

[ Back to the bartender, ] I'll have a fruity drink with umbrella, please.

[The bartender glances to Shawn because there are many fruity drinks with umbrellas.]

Two pina coladas please.

[Pineapple is always a good place to start in his opinion.]

The bartender does his job and produces two pina coladas, complete with little umbrellas. Once again, Gaz eyes the drink warily. ]

...This can't be real.

Oh, they are very real. And chock full of delicious flavor.

[He'll pick hers up and hand it over to her, before sipping his with a pleased noise.]

They're my favorite of the fruity drink options.

[ Well, he took a drink so it's not poisoned. She sips hers as well. ]

Not bad. Not as garishly sweet as soda, kind of tangy. I like it.

Well, we've conquered drinks. The next step would be food.

[ She follows, ogling the selection. ]

Now I'm no stranger to food, but I think I'm a little overwhelmed by the number of choices here.

Personally, I always think that's an excuse to try one of everything.

Well, we've tried the shrimp. [ She looks along the buffet table, recognizing the easily recognizable stuff like small pieces of toasted bread, slices of cheese, and your basic fruits, but... ] What is that?

[ She's pointing at an odd-looking fruit that she's never seen before. ]

[A bright grin splits across Shawn's face as he lifts it up to show her.]

This? This is the most delicious of fruits. A lovely mix of sweetness and tang that tingles the palette and provides the most satisfactory fruit experience. It is called ... the pineapple.

[farmgirlfighter]

The pine... apple. [ Definitely picturing a pine tree with these hanging off it now. So very skeptical. But she's nothing if not adventurous, so she takes a toothpick and skewers a piece to try. ]

Hm... This tastes like the drink. The piña colada.

[He grins.]

Precisely. Pina coladas are made from pineapples, plus rum and some other fun fruit flavors.

Alright. [ She eats another piece of pineapple. ] I like it. Where does this pine apple grow?

Places like Hawaii or the Bahamas. They like their climates warm and tropical.
