The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Well, in any case, I think more recruits is a good strategic decision for Wynn.

Morbid or not, it's hard to argue that. [ she'll nod, giving Alex that inch. ]

I am usually right, regardless of morbidity levels.

Believe it or not, I used to be even worse.

Getting a hit placed on you and having to abandon your entire life as you know it is a very humbling experience. Not that humbling, I guess, since I'm still ... me, but, you know. Humbling-ish.

Whoa. Is that what got you out of the mob? Someone put a hit on you, and you had to, like, disappear?

I mean, in so many words, yeah. Probably could've handled that better, but it seemed like the easiest way back then.

Did you ever find out who ordered the hit?

Nah. I always figured it was my boss.

So if he found out you were still out there somewhere ... he could still come after you.

Yeah. Which is why you couldn't pay me to set foot in New York again. And why this whole knighthood thing is so particularly great for me.

Secret organizations have their perks, I guess. [ but that doesn't fully assuage her worry. ] Wynn, like, knows about this, right? He's not gonna try to ship you off to New York by accident on some mission?
