The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

You're braver than me, I guess. [Clark is still sticking to the few things that he can identify. Abigail helped him out with a few at a previous party, so he can at least pretend to be slightly cultured.]

It's good. It's ... kind of like having a great big team, which is way better than trying to figure out this world on my own.

I'm... still getting used to that part of it. I got pretty used to being on my own. [Sort of. Besides all those people that helped him, but shh he was totally doing it all on his own.]

[Barry nods a bit.]

I was lucky. I always had a team trying to help me.

Yeah? Any of them make it through with you?

[He frowns before shaking his head.]

Not that I know of, anyway. But I do have some friends here.

Here-here. My friend Felicity Smoak is the one who brought me in, and Oliver and Thea Queen are both from my world too.

Felicity... I think she and Oliver were on the mission where I ran into the knights for the first time. And I've met Thea here once or twice. That's great that you have friends from the other side.

[He brightens a bit at that, before nodding her agreement.]

Yeah, it is. It's made adjusting to being here a lot easier.

I'm actually from this side. Weirdly, that seems almost less common around here.

I guess with all the magic and stuff I would think that there would be more native knights.

All that magic comes from the Veil, though. At least, I think that's how it works. I'm not really all that experienced with magic.

[He shakes his head.]

Neither am I. I'm kind of picking it up as I go along.

Yeah. If I'm honest, all of that stuff makes me kind of nervous. I think it's great that so many people here can learn more about themselves, but... I've just had some less than great experiences.

[supertardiness]

[Barry nods in agreement.]

That's fair. In my world, a lot of people with powers - basically our form of magic - have had less than favorable experiences too.

So does that mean you..? [If he knows about people with powers/magic, he feels like it's a fair question.]

[Barry's getting more and more comfortable talking about it, and if he's going to be working with them, people should know.]

[He rubs the back of his neck.]

I broke Mach Two back home? But I think the Veil slowed me down a bit when I came through. I'm still abnormally fast though, so it doesn't really make that much of a difference.

[He hesitates for a moment before deciding he may as well.]

I'm uh- pretty fast too. Maybe we could race sometime.
