The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ Rey scoffs like that question is some straight nonsense but tbh hangs with aliens over here so. ]

She's not human. [ Let's start there as an attempted explanation, because apparently Human Privilege over here needs it. ]

Does everyone in this galaxy categorize other species by how close they are to humans? [ said with the sharp criticism of someone who isn't hearing the term 'humanoid' for the first time and is a little baffled by it. ]

Is it normal for people to know the name of lip balm makers? [ js ]

Yeah, if it's really good lip balm? Like Burt's Bees.

[ just gonna ? ?? give her free shit ? ?? Rey seems cautiously disbelieving at first, but slowly nods like um yes sure. Girls are fucking magical creatures and Rey is just like ? ? ? ?? constantly over them basically. ]

[she reaches into her tiny little handbag and pulls out a normal tube of burt's bees and just hands it over like w/e, completely oblivious.] Here, try it out.

[ opening up the tube like ok this is something familiar at least and then it has a spinny wheel to push it up and she's like or not. but she does figure it out pretty readily because it's how her brain works and she applies it like ? ? ? ok. lip smacking commences as she tries to like understand some religious experience that astrid associates with this. finally, she caps it and hands it back over. ]

And this is better than the other varieties available here?

It's pretty great, yeah. EOS is cute but it doesn't fit in your pockets very well. And there's that whole lawsuit thing, but I think they changed their formula to cut corners and it caused a lot of allergic reactions.

A few years now, I guess. I'm hella experienced.
