The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[The one thing he notices is that there are a lot of blonde females running around here, tonight. He starts to identify them by their manner of dress and soon starts to eliminate the ones that aren't the girl he pulled from the tank debris. He knows what he saw, but he also knows that the Knights have a lot of people capable of pulling off what some might consider a miracle. He's seen similar happen in his line of work, but he's still curious about the fate of the girl that Skye seemed concerned over.

He finally spots her and makes his way closer to her. He offers a small wave, then once he's close enough, he starts to talk.]

You might not remember me... there were a lot of explosions going off and a tank blew up, but I just wanted to make sure you were okay.

[felidity]

I remember you. [ her exuberant smile dims slightly, also recognizing him as the guy skye told her to stay away from. technically, she did, he just didn't get that memo apparently. ] They said you carried me away from the tank after it happened.

[ it being her own death. ugh that's awkward. there is a note of gratitude in her tone, but she doesn't know how to express it. ]

[betrayed]

[He nods, wringing his hands together briefly.]

I did. [He doesn't want to express how light she felt, how he could feel the life slipping away from her with each step he took.]

They took you once we got clear of the wreckage. I didn't know what would happen, but I'm glad you're okay. [They being the other Knights that had been there that day.]

It was definitely a unique first day here.

I'm glad I'm okay, too. I'm sorry I died on your first day, that's not very welcoming.

There's no need to apologize. Like I told Wynn, I didn't think it was something anyone planned on happening. I'm just glad I was there to help where I could.

I'm Grant, by the way. [Most people call him Ward, but maybe this is part of his new leafyness.]

I know, Skye told me.

[ her expression is still as open as ever, green eyes guileless, but she's definitely looking for this guy's reaction to skye's name. ]

[Skye told her. That's interesting, since Skye claimed to not know him before she introduced her knee to his groin. He manages to keep any sort of curiosity to the casual acknowledgment (will 17) with a nod of his head.]

Well, it's nice to formally meet you. [He still smiles at her, warm and friendly.] You look lovely this evening; did you come here with anyone? [He doesn't play the card of wondering where her "over protective boyfriend is" because she survived a tank exploding. Resurrection or not, she doesn't need someone to protect her from men.]

Thank you. [ she likes manners, they're so nice, smoothing down her dress as if that's the part she's thanking him for before she continues. ] I'm reserving judgment on whether it's nice to meet you or not, but so far it is.

It's just me, though. I didn't know we're supposed to bring dates...

I don't think it's ever a matter of 'supposed to', but I haven't been to one of these parties, before. I think bringing a date, if you had one, wouldn't be frowned on. [Can he play the 'I'm new!' card here? How long until that wears out?]

Now I just need to find a date. [ would she have to share her snacks tho??? maybe she'll rethink this. ]

Well, should your other options fail to meet standards, I'm usually free to accompany a lovely lady.

[ kali can be as dense as lead, but that sounds like a bad idea. for him, not for her. a bad idea for his continued breathing. ]

[He laughs, lightly.]

Don't worry, I won't show up on your doorstep with flowers. It's just a standing offer, if you ever feel the need for a dance partner.
