The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Then his voice trails off as the rest of what she said catches up to him.]

[Yep, Barry is pretty predictable that way. It takes him a moment to recover more, before he swallows and nods. Okay. This is good. Better than someone he doesn't know.]

But that probably means ... Christmas isn't going to be happening again anytime soon, right?

[ she shrugs, but doesn't answer because, frankly, she doesn't have an answer for sure and she doesn't want to cut that off if she can help it. ]

[Barry gives her a look for a second because his brain is still on the making out and he's like wait, what? How is that? And then his brain catches up with him and it's like oh whoops right.

The super speed thing.]

Well, that's part of what I'm capable of. I'm a pretty good CSI too.

[There's a beat. And then there's a smirk because he totally makes bad puns at crime scenes, sorry Thea.]

[He makes a mock gasp, before placing his hand against his chest.]

[ a knife comes from somewhere and before he's finished the line, it's hovering near his throat, eyes sparkling mischievously. ]

[ she grins, and drops the knife immediately. ]

I did warn you. [ and the knife gets tucked back under her skirt. ]

[He nods as he watches her put that away.]

Do you always have knives on you like that?

Yeah, pretty much. [ she looks up as she secures it and tugs up the skirt a little more so he can see that she has three tiny knives sheathed on her outer thigh. ] I was never a Boy Scout, but I can get behind some of their principles. Always prepared.

[He glances down at the knives, his eyebrows going up for a moment before shaking his head.]

You are so Oliver's sister.

[ her expression sours immediately. oliver has that effect, thea has a lot of anger. ] It's like you want me to stab you.

[He sighs, before shaking his head.]

Sorry. It's just ... you remind me of him sometimes.

[ is it because, like her brother, she has ZERO FUCKING CHILL?? that runs in the family, on every side. queens and merlyns have no chill. ]

[Which is why he regrets bringing it up now.]

And I know Oliver's lied to you a lot. And I can't apologize for him. But he does have some good qualities too, sometimes. I see a lot of them in you.
