I'm sure there is an accountant in the Hoard who can direct me to a reputable bank for... pretty much everything. My dad has a lawyer friend who can draw up wills and directives once I sort the money stuff out.

One of us has to be when you go out for groceries and come back with another dog.

I'm not going to leave a stray dog on the street if I happen to be coming back from grocery shopping and see one.

You know, when I said you should go for drives when you can't sleep, I didn't expect you to be smuggling puppies home. [ she sounds a whole 0% upset. ] Please tell me Link's story.

There was a box of puppies outside a convenience store. He was the last one left.

Oh my god, Will, you're like an addict. [ a beat. ] Not that I wouldn't have done the same thing.

I couldn't just leave him. He was probably the runt. He could've died.

[icouldbe_bess]

Oh, quit justifying it, you know I'm gonna give in to every dog you bring home because I'm a chump. [ leaning over, she kisses his cheek. ] Thank you for rescuing my puppy.

[he starts to smile.] You're welcome. I think there are worse habits to have than a weakness for strays, all things considered.

I completely agree. [ she gently sets link down finally and lets him gambol across the bed (which chester takes as a cue to put his paws on the bed and whine to be pulled up) as she scoots up onto her knees, facing will and tucking her sleep tousled hair behind her ear. ] Will you marry me, Will?

It's a yes, I just felt the need to point that out.

It's not like we started out very conventionally, we could use some every now and then. [ that said... she's going to help chester on to the bed before he whines himself to death and then kiss will. ]

[will was getting to it ok. jk he probably wasn't. he wanted chester to cry it out like a fussy baby. but now he's still ignoring him bc mmm kisses.]

[ and then they make out until spring. that'd be great, but alice's brain ruins it by pulling back and asking, ] What are your thoughts on children. That aren't Abigail, children in addition to Abigail.

[he's taken completely off-guard, left staring at her like a deer in headlights.] I — I don't know.

Okay. Well, I've always assumed no because -- [ she taps his forehead gently by his temple ] -- but you're free to contradict me if/when you do know. And you do already have Abigail, so.

Yeah. [somewhat relieved she voiced his concerns so he didn't have to explain himself.] I'd worry about any biological children ending up like me, but ... I don't know. Maybe it wouldn't be that bad.

We could always adopt. I can barely grow a plant. [ she gestures to the dead bamboo plant on the windowsill. it's really hard to kill bamboo. ] My skill in growing another human being might be as crappy. Plus, I already have diabetes, I'm not sure I'd be able to deal with any complications that could arise from that.
