[It's easy for Rebekah to pick up on how much Lis'sa is not horrible at dancing. She could have estimated that she'd be fine with it, given her skill at fighting and after all fighting is simply a different sort of dancing. The thing that Rebekah hadn't estimated, though, is how intense Lis'sa's gaze is. She's been around for a while and she's seen a lot of different looks thrown her way. Most of them littered with trying too hard or not trying at all and assuming their looks will win them over. This is hardly anything to easily dismiss away.

Rebekah is also hardly someone to simply accept something without reciprocation. It's impolite and also leaves her feeling like she's not keeping things balanced between two people. She steps in a bit closer to Lis'sa, letting her one arm lift to rest over the other girl's shoulder. Something light enough to not be intimate, but just enough to allow their dancing to fall into a more aligned rhythm.]

[ she doesn't seem to mind, smirking just a little bit as they fall into the same rhythm. her own hand moves gently to rebekah's hip, looking unconcerned about much at all as she moves with the music, hypnotically swerving her hips. someone all but bumps into her from behind, and gets a dirty look with a... 17 intimidate check, that makes them back right off ]

[Rebekah smirks as she watches Lis'sa rid them of someone invading their space. She likes the light touch of a hand on her hip, the way they seem to melt into the music and their surroundings without as much as a care for what comes next. The music continues a steady beat, deep with bass and thudding through the floor beneath their feet.

The arm that rests to Lis'sa shoulder shifts slightly, allowing her fingers to tease into a strand of the brunette's hair. It twists lightly around her fingertip, the soft curl feeling pleasant against her skin. It's possible she shouldn't be pushing this nearer to something more intimate, but to be honest Rebekah has been living alone in London for quite some time. Having any sort of connection to someone, especially someone who knows her as Lis'sa does, is a welcome one.]

[ she doesn't seem bothered by the touch, and winds up turning in place slowly, lifting her own arms to twine above her head, closing that space a little more between them as she backs slightly closer. she glances back over her shoulder, her expression somewhat sly. ]

[As Lis'sa turns in place, Rebekah moves her arm and allows her hand to rest to a hip once she's where she intends to be. The closer proximity makes the shared rhythm far easier to keep, allowing Rebekah to lose herself in the warmth of the body pressed to hers. The look Lis'sa gives her is easily met in Rebekah's eyes, the danger of the hunt always lurking there, but tempered by centuries of control.]

[ lis'sa's hand drops to settle over hers, almost as if to encourage her to remain there, and she has to lean back a bit to make herself heard as she says: ] This wasn't a bad idea.

[As Lis'sa's hand encourages, Rebekah gives her hip a gentle squeeze, reassuring her that she intends on staying wherever she's welcome. Smirking, she leans to brush her lips near Lis'sa ear, ensuring that what she says is easily heard over the volume of the music.] I'm glad you came with me.

I normally wouldn't do this. [ go dancing??? sexy dance with her mentee???? b oth...?? ]

I hope that doesn't mean this is a one time occasion. [Rebekah stays near Lis'sa, enjoying the dancing, enjoying the company. She knows that her behavior with her mentor has been edging further into a flirtation that she shouldn't continue, but she's never been one for rules and living up to standards.]

It probably should be. [ emphasis on ... should ]

[There are countless objections that Rebekah could make at this moment, but instead she chooses to focus on the language of the reply. On words like probably and should. Words that allow leniency and a bit of possibility.]

I'll just have to hope I can lure you out once more.

For now, let's settle for tonight.

[~~What's that? Let's settle in for the night? No? Oh. Good thing Rebekah has vampire hearing.~~]

I can manage that. [She replies warmly, shifting her hand on Lis'sa's hip so that instead it's holding to her hand. She turns the other woman slowly (despite the upbeat music) and allows both of her arms to drape over her shoulders, keeping the same closeness, but now Rebekah can look into her eyes.] I can manage that quite well.

[ yeah well she crit failed her give any fucks check, apparently. she just stares back intently for a moment with those unnatural slitted eyes of hers, before sliding one hand around the small of her back. ] What else can you manage?

[The press of Lis'sa's hand at her lower back isn't anything that Rebekah would pull away from, she's already been walking right along the thin line between flirtation and downright attempts at seduction. Her own gaze back at Lis'sa is still pushing that presence of a heat that isn't just the temperature of the room surrounding them.]

I could keep up with you. [Which could inspire countless thoughts, she's sure, and Rebekah is confident that she'd be perfectly content with any of those thoughts.]

Then prove it. [ one eyebrow arcs up briefly, and she draws away enough to gesture back through the crowd ]

[No one has to challenge Rebekah more than once. She moves through the crowd, back toward the bar, and then further beyond that. They hit the streets and it's late, but the city isn't quite so desolate yet. It's Valentine's Day and some couples are getting ready to head off to the privacy of their own home for the night.

For Rebekah the cooler air hits the warm dampness of her skin, the sheen of sweat making the air feel far colder than it truly is. It feels good, though. She can hear a faint ringing in her ears, but she knows it will fade quickly. Taking a breath, she glances to Lis'sa and steps in closer to her.]

My flat isn't far from here. [It's probably just a fifteen minute cab ride.] Unless you have somewhere else you'd like to go?

Not particularly. [ the flat will do. she didn't plan this shit out extensively aight. ]

[Rebekah nods and moves toward the curb. Her hand still lingers behind her a bit, reaching out and hoping that Lis'sa will take hold of it as she moves to hail a cab. She manages to get one (cha 19) relatively quickly and opens the door for Lis'sa to get in. She smiles at the other woman.]

Shall we?

[ lis'sa is not much of a hand holder, even momentarily, as evidenced by her hesitation, but she slips hers coolly through rebekah's as if to let her draw her in to the cab, because that's totally fine ] Mm.

[For Rebekah it's still that hint of old traditions. Of being a polite date. She doesn't let the hand holding linger once they're in the can. She does, however, ensure that she's seated close to the other woman. She even turns to face her, fingers moving to twist at the ends of her hair.]

All the centuries of seeing style change and I'm still finding new ways to appreciate beauty.

[ she seems fine with the closeness, at least, and makes no move to budge ] I've only the one and a half under my belt, I'm afraid. But I've never been very easy to impress.

There's nothing wrong with high standards. [She smirks, appreciatively, at her.]

They've served me well enough so far. You strike me as a woman who doesn't tend to settle for anything beneath her.

That's true. [She also learned not to try and seek the approvals of others. Many loves were lost due to a jealous brother.]

I'm also quick to find passion.
