Sorta? [ Dawn feels like saying that to everyone she comes across, but maybe she really is the new one. ] I've been on missions almost continuously for, like, two years. I feel almost new, to be honest.

[Malia squints. She hasn't even been on one mission.]

Really? Are you a Knight, then?

I am! All official, even, for like... a year-ish? That was the last time I was here.

[animalistic]

Oh. [Malia feels really unaccomplished right now. She's been here for a while and she hasn't even gone out on a mission. Of course, she had her werecoyote problems to handle.]

Where were you when you weren't here?

[watcherjunior]

[ Dawn picks up on some of Malia's unease (sense motive 22) and smiles reassuringly. ] It took me a while to get there, trust me. Plus, I'm still sorta useless in the action-y things. I'm more the research gal.

[ She cocks her head to one side, thinking. ] Really? Kinda everywhere. Well, not everywhere, not literally. But I touched down on every continent. Except Antarctica.

Oh. I'm definitely not research friendly. I don't do well with tests, either. Or math. Or anything school related.

I can fight, though. I just haven't done much of it since I got here.

That's the nice thing about the Knights: there's something for everyone. Or you could be an overachiever and be a freelancer, but.

[ She cants her head to one side. ] Did something happen with your mentor or... ?

[animalistic]

Oh, no. Nothing happened to her. It's just -- I'm a werecoyote. So when I came through the Veil things weren't exactly the same with my powers. I had to learn how to adjust to that.

I've gotten a handle on it now, but I still haven't gone on any missions.

Yeah, that sorta thing definitely happens. Good ol' Veil, right? [ She wearily rubs her eyes. ] Now that you've got it sorted out, maybe you'll go on your first mission.
