[She follows her past the fridge toward the coffee brewer, getting a pot going.]

[ caroline unearths a paper bag that the unrolls to pull out a bag of blood, setting it on the counter so she can neatly roll the bag back up and replace it in the fridge. ]

Are you going to graduate high school?

[Elena turns to lean against the counter while her coffee starts to brew. She gives Caroline a graceful shrug of her shoulder.]

I don't know. I suppose I can't really see the point. It isn't as if I'm ever going to need to get a normal job.

[highlyemotional]

But it's... a profound human experience. As I am no longer one, I've found a weird sense of nostalgia. Even though I was definitely in class just a few months ago.

I used to take classes with Ric before everything became so much more difficult. At this point it would simply be a matter of taking the GED exam, and I'm not sure that's part of the experience. I imagine it's more about the people, the football games, homecoming, things like that. Right?

[highlyemotional]

I have the experience. [ she frowns a little popping open the bag. she has the experience, but elena doesn't and that's sad. ] I want my hard work to have paid off and meant something.

I'm sure I have it too, even if I don't remember it. That doesn't mean it's not still a part of me.

Everything we do still means something, regardless of whether or not we have a piece of paper to prove it to someone else.

[highlyemotional]

I guess. [ she doesn't seem to be completely swayed, sipping her blood bag like it's a capri sun. ]

If it's important to you, then you should finish. There are plenty of resources here that will help you do that.

It just doesn't matter to me anymore.
