[she shakes her head, laughing a little.] Don't get me wrong- I think Christianity tries its hardest, but it's hard to stomp out a faith that gives us such wonderful gifts. Arguing about whose god is the real one or who worships the best way is just a good way to not get a cleric when you need one.

If I learned tomorrow that Milil was just an aspect of Ao and not his own separate god, then it wouldn't change anything about my faith in him.

You would think that people would have learned to compromise, but it doesn't stop people from being afraid of what they don't understand. Some extreme conservatives believe that learning about alternative faiths compromises their own. Why bother, when they're false to begin with.

Exactly! Goodness, nothing has power if no one believes in it enough. You might as well say eating fish compromises your love for chicken.
