Cordelia and Steve have gotten together to plan a rather fun party to celebrate Sarandis being taken down. Abbie even managed to grab them a rather awesome band to entertain the guests and everything else was hand picked and decided on by Cordy and Steve. It's not as fancy as a squiring after party, but it's just as fun. The ballroom has been "dressed down" a little to match the relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy yourselves!

[a racist bastard is dead? one who wrecked her new home and hurt a lot of her new friends? yeah, kyomi is all about jumping on the opportunity to party it the fuck up. She's wearing a cute blue dress (and still barefooted, because she is fully against shoes, regardless of fancy dress) and bounding around the party, hugging random people, and offering drinks and toasts.

At some point in the night, she will climb up on a chair and propose an offer, a little bit shit-faced, but speaking pretty clearly.] All right, gents! And lady-gents! Since not all of us were fortunate enough to see the bastard burn, I suggest we all go out back and light somethin' on fire.

[Malina knocks back whatever shot she's drinking, before raising her hand at that announcement and pointing towards Kyomi before nodding her agreement.]

I am with you. I'll bring the fireball.

Aye. That's the spirit! [she climbs down.] We'll just get some sticks from the woods, bind them together in a person-shape, and fling a fireball at it. [she cups her hands to her mouth.] Perfectly safe! For those of you lookin' at me like I'm a bloody loony.

[she bounds up to Malina, beaming.] Bit pagan, I guess, but I am a bit pagan, in the sense of the church Ma and Da go to, so it is what it is, yeah?

[She gives a small shrug.]

As long as something gets set on fire, I don't really give a shit. I just like seeing things burn.

[an indelicate snort as she just walks up to Malina and links her arm in hers like they're good buddies.] Well, nothin' wrong with that. You'll have to get a mission with me one day. Sir Hasmed enchanted my rapier to produce a nice little bit of fire.

[Ooooh fire blades.]

Kyomi. [she winks.] Newly minted squire... I guess a few months isn't "newly minted," but fox or not, I'm not quite cocky enough to call myself anything more than green.

A few months isn't a bad chunk of time to have under your belt. Who are you squired to?

Ah... Sir Alanna. Dragon's Light, I think? Ginger as all get out. Girl after my own heart, honestly. I commend Wynn for his ability to pair people up.

[And she smiles at that.]

Girl after mine, too. Me and Alanna have worked together in the past.

Oh? You're gonna have to tell me embarrassing mission stories about her, then. She has to have a few.

[She laughs.]

We've all had our missteps. But there was that one time we tracked a naga through the sewers with Sir Harrison and Sir Lannister.

[she wrinkles her nose.] Because of course it would've picked a sewer.

[They step outside and Kyomi immediately sets to picking up sticks she finds laying around to build her wicker man effigy of Dimitris.] The average "monster"- and I don't use that word lightly- is as dumb as a box of hair, they say, and yet if you can believe they always accidentally lead you to the worst places on sheer dumb luck, I've got a few things to sell you.

[She laughs.]

I've tracked monsters all over the damn place. From the Arctic and back again - they'll go wherever they want to go.

Fickle bastards. [she continues collecting her twigs.] Making my bloody life difficult. Y'know, I advocate for Shadowkind rights, yeah? Led protest marches and everything, and for every single march? [she gesticulates with a stick] There's at least ten people who throw out the "a naga or a dragon or a bloody Kobold ate my baby, sister, dog, and/or goldfish." As if that paints us all in a bad light.

[She rolls her eyes.]

Yeah. But so could a bear or a wolf or any other mundane animal from this world. Idiots.

And I have yet to see a true political leader demand a war on bears. But of course, it doesn't matter. A bear can't feel marginalized, so where's all the fun for the bigots.

[She shakes her head.]

People are messed up, man. And they sure as hell don't like to change their views.

Which is probably why they're going to vote in a bigoted billionaire as their President.

[She makes a face.]

Ugh, don't remind me. I am ashamed for my country.

Glad I moved out when I did.

[she arranges her sticks in an artful depiction of a man and then surrounds that stick figure with rocks to keep the fire from spreading.] Voila! We can even roast marshmallows over it.

[And once she's given the all clear, Malina will wave her hand and cast flaming sphere, sending a fireball right for the effigy and setting it aflame. As it starts to curl and drop to the ground, she raises her glass and knocks the rest back.]

Still a little mad I didn't get to do that in real life.

There'll be more bigots to set on fire. [she pats her shoulder and sighs at the rising smoke.] Always.

[She nods in agreement.]

Don't we know it.

[She sighs as the fire starts to fizzle out, before turning back to the party.]

I think I need another drink. How about you?

[kyomi inhales through her nose, clearly only as satisfied by this effigy burning as one might expect- it doesn't mean anything. it's just catharsis. nice flaming catharsis.]

Aye. I could use about five, I think.
