Cordelia and Steve have gotten together to plan a rather fun party to celebrate Sarandis being taken down. Abbie even managed to grab them a rather awesome band to entertain the guests and everything else was hand picked and decided on by Cordy and Steve. It's not as fancy as a squiring after party, but it's just as fun. The ballroom has been "dressed down" a little to match the relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy yourselves!

...maybe. But Dimitris Sarandis only qualified as a "someone" in the most technical of senses. This is definitely one for the "win" column, even if it's only a battle win and there's still, oh, the whole war ongoing. They (the Knights in general, those on the mission in particular) deserve a good night like this.

The atmosphere may be a bit "dressed down," but Dawn's still trying to look good (disguise 17). She'll be making the rounds in between stuffing her face and drinking (maybe in moderation, who knows). ]

[ your hostess is looking good, not in full formal wear like she rocks for squiring parties, but still looking on point (disguise 17/22 for men). she buzzes around like the most social of butterflies, swanning her way into conversations and making sure everyone is having fun. ]

[ Steve (disguise 20) has never hosted a party in his life. Which is probably why he looks like a very stylish grandpa right now. He is trying to talk to people though and be lively. He knows Cordelia is handling a lot of the mingling. She was made for this stuff. He's not just glued to the wall. Steve is just trying to keep it simple. ]

[a racist bastard is dead? one who wrecked her new home and hurt a lot of her new friends? yeah, kyomi is all about jumping on the opportunity to party it the fuck up. She's wearing a cute blue dress (and still barefooted, because she is fully against shoes, regardless of fancy dress) and bounding around the party, hugging random people, and offering drinks and toasts.

At some point in the night, she will climb up on a chair and propose an offer, a little bit shit-faced, but speaking pretty clearly.] All right, gents! And lady-gents! Since not all of us were fortunate enough to see the bastard burn, I suggest we all go out back and light somethin' on fire.

[Rocket is... well he's not in the ballroom. He's actually just outside, looking out over the yard, a bewildered look in his beady little raccoon eyes. this is... a complicated matter for him, given he's also part of the "personally victimized by Dimitris Sarandis club" and while he would've loved to put up a fuss about not being involved, he knows d'ast well why he wasn't and it would've been moot.

still. not being there means it's hard to believe it's over. he's always maintained the out of sight, out of mind approach about half-world (what he remembers of it anyway and that's... very little except the excruciatingly bad parts that stand out fucking clearly against the backdrop of NOTHING), and if he can't remember if he ever got any sort of vindication from that, he could at least pretend. it's not as if he's ever going to see them again.

and yet, even knowing for absolute fact that the bastard's dead doesn't offer him any kind of relief. not the way the explosion of the prison at Andres did, so... here he is. contemplating his feelings when he should be lighting things on fire.

[ A party with booze? Hell yes Doyle was there. He didn't even try to look nice he was in his normal attire sitting off to the side with a drink shuffling cards in his hand as he watched the others party.

He saw nothing wrong with a party being thrown for killing the bastard that came and attacked their home. ]

[ Sebastian had been keeping himself busy, when not with Faye he was training to get himself stronger and faster. He might have turned down the chance to go to a party but with the fact it was celebrating Sarandis' death, hell yes he was there.

He made his way in without much of a chance to his normal look his duster flowing as he walked. (Dis 12) He was here for team morale and free drinks. What better reason? ]

Mars || OTA

[ Mars (Dis 17) made his way in to the ballroom in a laid back look that also looked really good on him. Black on black against his fair coloring. He was here to celebrate the bastard being dead to. Thus the black. He smiled at anyone he walked by, making his way to get a drink first thing then go mingle.]

[Felicity (disguise 21) isn't so much celebrating Sarandis' death as she is the end of everything that he stood for and the threat he posed to their knightly family. They took him down, and they're allowed to celebrate that. Eventually, she makes her way over to Steve's side, glass in each hand, and holds one up to him.]

[He and Felicity (disguise 21) both. She spots him over by the bar and slides her way over, flagging herself down the bartender for another drink before she watches him curiously.]

You play cards?

[Cora is also lingering on the outskirts of the party, mostly because it's her party default, and she's not really sure how she feels about all of this either. She's glad that Sarandis is gone, that he wasn't spared in the interest of justice because it's the "right thing" and she's glad that it's over.

But she didn't lose as much as other people did, so she's not sure she's right in having those feelings quite yet. She'll probably talk to someone about it later, but for right now she's just going to make her way over to her raccoon friend and sit down next to him, looking up with a small nod.]

[ kali is here for the food tbh. she has food in one hand and another in the long line of craft beers skye is trying to sell her on in the other. she doesn't look like she's drinking it though.

(spoilers, she doesn't like the taste of this one either.)

she doesn't look like she's celebrating, but she also doesn't look like she's wallowing. kali just happens to like parties because she likes revelry and so why not attend one? doesn't she technically count as a guest of honor? where is her cake. she feels like she deserves cake. ]

[Rocket looks up at her and then proceeds to pass her a bottle of what is probably top shelf whiskey stolen from the bar. it does not occur to him that most people would not want to drink from the same bottle he had his furry raccoon mouth on.]

[Sweets is rather dressed down himself, mostly because he was just following the noise and wasn't aware that this is a party he would be stumbling into. All the same, he's happy to stay for the party because it's a good reason to be celebrating, and right now, he's starting at the food first.]

...so who's talking with her mouth full? Yup, Dawn. She's being marginally polite in holding her hand over her mouth, trying to block the sight of pre-chewed food when she replies. ] It tastes even better.

[That sounds so incredibly cool and action movie worthy, and Barry is clearly giving Cordy his most rapt attention, because he's a loser that way. And he's here because he's curious about what happened.]

[Come to Barry, Kali. Barry has the cake. In fact, he can be found loitering by most of the food because he is a bottomless pit. He grabs a piece up for himself before turning and offering one to the person standing next to him.]

[Malina knocks back whatever shot she's drinking, before raising her hand at that announcement and pointing towards Kyomi before nodding her agreement.]

At least there's that. Even after we burned his freakin' lab down, he still had back-ups somewhere. [Rocket barely suppresses a shudder.] He might still have people workin' on those experiments even after. Flark if I know.

[maybe that's what he's afraid of. sarandis wasn't the one who really hurt him. he was the one who ordered it. he puts as much blame on the scientists as he does him.]
