Cordelia and Steve have gotten together to plan a rather fun party to celebrate Sarandis being taken down. Abbie even managed to grab them a rather awesome band to entertain the guests and everything else was hand picked and decided on by Cordy and Steve. It's not as fancy as a squiring after party, but it's just as fun. The ballroom has been "dressed down" a little to match the relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy yourselves!

[Sweets is rather dressed down himself, mostly because he was just following the noise and wasn't aware that this is a party he would be stumbling into. All the same, he's happy to stay for the party because it's a good reason to be celebrating, and right now, he's starting at the food first.]

...so who's talking with her mouth full? Yup, Dawn. She's being marginally polite in holding her hand over her mouth, trying to block the sight of pre-chewed food when she replies. ] It tastes even better.

[ And then she finishes her bite, complete with a happy little sigh. ] Sorry.

[He gives a shrug in return as he goes to pick up a few pieces of his own.]

It just gives what you said even more credibility, really. Clearly it's delicious if you're enjoying it so much you have to talk around it.

[ She snorts a laugh, smiling. ] Can't talk; too tasty? It'll be the new TL;DR. [ She points out a particular tray. ] Definitely try those. If only to keep me from eating them all and regretting it later.

[He piles up on the tray she's referring to, before shifting to hold out his hand to her.]

[ She takes his hand, giving a friendly shake. ] I'm Dawn.

So, did you intend to arrive to this shindig fashionably late, or was coming here a happy accident? [ Cause any accident that involves food is definitely a happy one. ]

Little of both. I didn't realize the party would be ... this much of a party.

It's definitely something different. [ She pauses to take a drink from her cup. ] I think most of us are used to the parties after the squirings and knightings? So it's a nice change. Although I highly doubt we're gonna see like... Wynn. Or any of the section heads, really.

Point. The man does like a party. I haven't seen it in a while. Absence, heart, fonder.

Oh, did you miss the last big knighting ceremony? Seems like the Hide had a pretty good throw down not that long ago.

Yeah, I've sorta missed, like, all the knighting ceremonies. I mean, recently. Except my own.

[His eyebrows go up a bit and he nods.]

Long mission?

A long few. [ She half-shrugs. ] All part of the gig, right?

[He nods.]

Yeah. I haven't been on active mission duty for a long time, but I remember what it's like.

[watcherjunior]

[ She raises her eyebrows in surprise. ]

Really? Why no active duty?

I'm a psychologist. I figured I'd be better help here, since I'm not really that much of an asset in the field. So the work is still rewarding, just a different kind of rewarding.

I'm sure there's plenty you could do in the field. I mean, we can't all be fighters or wield magic and everything.

Yeah, but while I get over excited about the actual investigative work, I'm better in the office. And I like helping here. Sometimes knights need someone to talk to who can be objective and impartial.

Fair point. [ She gives him a sheepish smile. ] I probably get a little too enthusiastic, sometimes. So, do you have your own office and everything?

Enthusiasm is not a bad thing. At least not in my book.

[He nods.]

Recently remodeled thanks to Sarandis' attack, but yeah. It's my own office space.

Not bad, enthusiasm. Just sometimes, not... [ She thinks for the right word. ...appropriate?

Yeah, I imagine a lot of people had their personal spaces remodeled via attack. Yet another reason we're all here, right?

Yep. Now we can continue to rebuild without fear of it going boom again.

[ She nods, then stops. Considering. ] At least, not going boom from him again. Hopefully, not ever again.

I will second that. If he's gone, then chances are good that it won't.
