Cordelia and Steve have gotten together to plan a rather fun party to celebrate Sarandis being taken down. Abbie even managed to grab them a rather awesome band to entertain the guests and everything else was hand picked and decided on by Cordy and Steve. It's not as fancy as a squiring after party, but it's just as fun. The ballroom has been "dressed down" a little to match the relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy yourselves!

That was part of it, probably. But then when he traveled back in time to destroy me he accidentally got stuck in my timeline and then irony of ironies, he needed me to get back to his own timeline. So he ... created me and trained me and made me trust him which sucked when I found out who he actually was.

So what did you do?

I ... didn't actually do anything. I went along with his plan at first, but I learned that some things you can't really change, no matter how hard you try. I wasn't the one who stopped him, though.

[That was Eddie, doing something drastic and heroic all at the same time.]

He sounds like he might have been offended if it wasn't you.

He probably was. But I wasn't fast enough to stop him. Eddie was.

[Though it wasn't a sacrifice Eddie should have had to make.]

Are people with superspeed just a dime a dozen where you come from?

[supertardiness]

[He shrugs.]

As far as I know, we're the only two - but there are other people with powers.

[And Eddie was his descendant. You can't have a descendant if you never have children - or more to the point, don't exist to have children.]

Like superstrength?

[supertardiness]

Yeah. Or electrokinesis. I ran into a metahuman who could control the weather - two, actually - and one who could turn his body into poisonous gas.

That last one doesn't seem like much of a party trick.

[supertardiness]

Yeah, it's not. He used it to kill a lot of people.

[allaboutme]

How do you stop something like that?

[supertardiness]

Well, all metahumans have limits. I need to eat ten thousand calories a day in order to maintain my speed efficiently. He could only maintain his gaseous form for a certain period of time, and once he wore himself out it was back to solid human form again.

[He gives a small shrug.]

We built cells for criminals with powers and it keeps him pretty contained.

Did you say ten thousand?

[supertardiness]

Yeah. Averages out to like ... three dozen doughnuts a day? Give or take?

Meanwhile the rest of us have to count calories in a stick of gum.

[supertardiness]

[He gives a small shrug. This topic of conversation is always so awkward.]

It's not as great as it sounds. I'm eating pretty much all the time, plus if I don't eat enough I start passing out - it sort of takes the joy out of food, you know?

At least you never have to go to the gym.

Oh, no, I still go to the gym. My mentor is very insistent.

[He makes a face.]

But it's more for sparring and stuff than it is for cardio.

So you do like, karate?

[supertardiness]

Yeah. Mostly just trying to teach me better ways to fight more with speed than strength.

[allaboutme]

I kinda wanna see.

[supertardiness]

Really?

[Barry gives a small shrug.]

I mean, sure. Do you want to spar with me?
