Cordelia and Steve have gotten together to plan a rather fun party to celebrate Sarandis being taken down. Abbie even managed to grab them a rather awesome band to entertain the guests and everything else was hand picked and decided on by Cordy and Steve. It's not as fancy as a squiring after party, but it's just as fun. The ballroom has been "dressed down" a little to match the relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy yourselves!

[He laughs.]

Well, it's either that I stick to what I'm good at - helping people - or I wind up ... obsessed trying to solve a problem that may not be able to be solved. Personally, I'd like to choose the more productive option.

You can't do both?

[supertardiness]

[Heh. Skye, you don't know him very well.]

I mean, I could, but I'm ... easily focused. I spent fifteen years obsessively trying to solve the last problem I had ... didn't really leave me a lot of room for a whole lot else.

[He may not remember Iris, but he remembers his father, telling him that he couldn't keep holding himself back.

Also the last problem he had was trying to prove that his father didn't murder his mother - Barry, that is not the same kind of problem.]

You know, I heard somewhere that admitting you have a problem is the first step to solving it. But ... that isn't necessarily true if after you admit it, you just keep rolling with it. [ Sigh. ] What I'm saying is ... if you know you can't do things halfway, isn't that a reason to try to ... I don't know, figure out how? Instead of letting it hold you back from answers.

[He nods slowly in agreement.]

That's fair. To be honest, this is the first place I've come to with the tech to even attempt to figure out what's going on with me, and I've already given the Hoard access to my suit to monitor my vitals and draw information from it.

With enough time, they might even be able to get you back to where you were before you switched into low power mode.

Yeah, I guess we'll have to see. If anything, it's kind of like normal human endurance ... I just have to build it back up again.

[hacker]

Training for superspeed? I mean, the treadmill might not be the best bet, but I bet we could set up a circuit around the grounds.

Probably. Or there might be an abandoned airstrip nearby I can use.

[It's worked in the past, at least.]

Mostly I've just been running to and from London.

[hacker]

To and from— [ what. that's an hour drive. ] How long does that take you?

[supertardiness]

About a half hour one way? Probably faster if I really pushed myself, but if I use my speed too much I get hypoglycemic, and it's probably bad if I get there in fifteen minutes and the promptly pass out.

[He shrugs.]

So I run in, fuel up, and then run back out again. Sometimes I spend the day looking around the museums and stuff. Did you know that King Henry VIII's wine cellar is still under the Ministry of Defence?

[hacker]

Barry, your morning jog is like ... a hundred and sixty miles an hour, and you're telling me about Henry VIII's wine cellar? [ whaT PLANET IS SHE ON. ] That's incredible.

[supertardiness]

[He laughs before shaking his head.]

Look, I was a nerd before I became an actual real-life science project. Some things you just can't turn off.

[hacker]

Yeah, well, nerd-Barry has leveled up.

[supertardiness]

I guess he has.

[But enough about him.]

What about you? Any ... special talents?

[hacker]

Me? [ She laughs. ] No. Big fan, not exactly card-carrying member.

[supertardiness]

Hey, I didn't necessarily mean powers powers. Wynn must have picked you for a reason, right?

[hacker]

Sure. I know my way around a computer better than almost anyone here. [ Almost. ] That's not super. Anyone can learn CS.

[supertardiness]

You know more CS than I do.

[He will give her credit for that.]

I was a physics and chemistry guy, not a computer guy.

[hacker]

Well, if it makes you feel better, both of those go way over my head. So, even?

[supertardiness]

Even.

[He flashes her a grin, before glancing back to the snacks.]

I should probably go grab some more food. You want anything?

[hacker]

Wouldn't want to interfere with the booze to stomach process. [ She tilts her empty glass in his direction. ] But thanks. I'll catch up with you later.

[supertardiness]

[He nods.]
