It's been a couple of months since the hacker who goes by the moniker "One" assisted in the attack on the Knights' castle, with the inside assistance of the Artificial Intelligence-turned-human GLaDOS.  Zero has good reason to believe, however, that One hasn't left - that he's waiting for him to come face him, and that the stage he's set for the showdown is the CalTech building in the city, whose employees are off for the week.  Realizing it's likely a trap, Zero's stacked his chips on setting a counter-trap - uploading a virus designed by himself and Topher Brink into the now-cyborg Faye Chamberlain's brain, assuming that he is going to try to hack into her and turn her against them.  

They arrive at the building as the sun is going down, staring up at the building that has a light show of digital streams coursing down the front of it, drawing a snort from Zero.  

"Theatrical jackass."

[topher chuckles awkwardly.] Hey in their defense, one of the few people who can do that like it's no big is me, and I didn't work for them yet. You got impatient, like, a month too soon. And I would've taken requests! I'm sure... There's some addition you've always wanted... Scary computer lady.

[Despite Faye just mentioning that this bitch fucked with their magic last time, she's going to reach for Lila and cast telepathic bond on herself, Lila, Astrid, and Zero.

No hard feelings Topher. She just can only do three people and she knows and likes you the least. This shit last 110 mins.]

I don't like giving this crazy bitch any sort of upper hand. So I'm thinking we don't say a damn word for her to know what we're doing.

...what are we doing anyway? We barely made it out alive last time and that's because that other one showed up.

Yeah, Topher, give into the psychotic AI, that never ends well. [ she rolls her eyes at him, before focusing on the silent planning session. ]

How do you suggest we find it, Zero? We're kind of stuck here. [ a beat. ] Everyone close your eyes.

[ keeping in mind that they had to get on the pedestal somehow, lila tips her head up and blows on her palm, casting glitterdust directly overhead in order to catch the entire pedestal in it's spread, hoping to illuminate some kind of walkway or stairs along the edge of the pedestal.

topher gets no warning. ]

[he at least rolls a 23 will save to avoid being fucking blinded by the SURPRISE GLITTER and he jumps back, startled.]

What the frakking hell, Tinkerbell? Are we gonna beat the AI lady with pixie dust?

[ zero gets a 16 will save vs the blinding, not sure what the dc is?? either way the glitter actually... spills out along the sides of the pedestal in all directions. like... on the air??? ]

Also spills out on the sides like...suspended midair? If so, Faye is gonna put a foot out to test out if it's solid.]

[topher pulls one of his shoes off. for reasons.]

...On her aesthetically horrifying stage, apparently.

[ underneath faye's foot, she would feel nothing... but the place where the glitter has landed seems to flash with a light blue grid, that vanishes again, along with the glitter. ] Either this is some next level VR or...

[Faye blinks and draws her foot back.]

So this isn't your kind of magic?

[She wants to learn about his weird techno magic stuff but...hasn't yet.]

[Topher crouches on the edge of the ledge and begins flailing his shoe at thin air, hoping to either hit a footfall or see if he can trigger what Faye just did.] The glitter had to go somewhere...

[ no sooner is his foot off the edge than they hear a droning buzz... and four robotic disk-shaped things come flying towards the pedestal. each sports a red glowing eye, and red beams sweep across them... clearly for targeting purposes. ]

As entertaining as it is to watch you struggle to comprehend simple concepts, I'm afraid I can't stay.

Consider this experiment terminated.

[apparently hearing glados's dulcet tones is like a bull seeing red for astrid. it's enough to immediately send her into a psychotic rampage. fuck this shit tbh.] I'LL TERMINATE YOU!!

[but since glados is not in the room with them, she'll have to settle for pulling her gun out and shooting at one of the disc things. idk. the one farthest to the left. (atk 18; 12 dmg) ]

[ to the surprise of literally no one, lila draws her guns to shoot some shit. (rapid shot atk 22, 22, 30, off hand 26; dmg 8, 9, 13, 11). um, she aims for one of the ones astrid is not shooting at, so furthest to the right idk. ]

[ astrid's shot pwings off the hull of the robotic disk, but lila's manage to bypass it, burying themselves in the metal and causing it to waver a bit, but it doesn't slow.

one disc comes for each of them, all too convenient, really, staying hovering out of reach as they shoot a high-energy laser out (@astrid atk 31, dmg 14, @zero atk 22, dmg 11, @lila atk 20, dmg 11, @topher atk 22, dmg 12) ]

[Aw hell naw. Faye isn't about to let her girls be attacked like that. She raises her hands and lets out two bolts of scorching ray at the drones that went after Lila and Astrid.(damage 14 and 19)]

[Topher yelps and skitters back from the edge to get some space between him and the robots and aims a shot at the one that attacked him. (atk 26, dmg 12) even he's... a little impressed with the accuracy of that shot.] Well, this is unoriginal... and way more painful than I imagined.

[ i do need a ranged attack for the ray spells plz! one banks slightly away as it gets hit with topher's bullet, and zero raises a hand, muttering something that sends out a pulse of blue energy that rolls over the robots... two of whom go entirely dead, and drop out of the sky, actually seeming to zap out of existence as they fall. ]
