The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ somehow, even though she's only wearing a plain jade green dress with a black belt, abigail manages to look dressed up, long dark hair cascading over her shoulders to hide her scars. (disguise 24) ]

So you're Scott. [ it's not accusatory or anything, she's idly curious as to this guy that's supposed to be so important to her boyfriend and alpha semi-adjacent to her girlfriend (lbr tbh) and a squire to her dad.

[ Scott looks a little like he's lost. Like a helpless puppy because he doesn't know who she is, but she seems to be pretty damn familiar with him. He's mid sip of his drink too so it's extra awkward for him as he struggles to swallow. Finally gets it down and nods his head quickly. ]

Yeah. Who're you?

[ simply, ] Abigail.

[virtutem]

Oh. You're Will's daughter. [ And Cora's friend. And Stiles' girlfriend. All of that. ] It's nice to meet you. [ He holds out a hand. ]

[theminotaur]

[ she smiles automatically at how scott classifies her, tucking her hair back with shy pleasure as she shakes his hand. ] Yeah, that's me. I mean, I am. Um, nice to meet you, too.

[ man, she started off so steady and then "you're will's daughter." ]

[ He could have just automatically pointed out she's Cora's friend, but Cora already told him she could take care of herself. So he knows enough. He also knows that something traumatic and violent happened to her back home. Will and him got a little real.

Once the handshake concludes he smiles and drops his hands. ]

I like your dress. It's pretty. [ Scott knows absolutely nothing about women's fashion beyond what looks pretty. ]

Thanks. [ abigail also knows nothing about fashion since her usual wardrobe is jeans and cardigans, but wynn's got that dressing room full of clothes to make it easy for her. ] There's a party almost every month, I got some practice in.

I lived in the woods for three years. It's been a long time since I've been in a suit.

[ A suit with actual suspenders. He wanted to look nice though. Tonight was kind of a date with Allison which was important for Scott. ]

It seems you know a lot my friends too. That's cool.

In the woods? Are you the Unabomber?

I had a cottage. I didn't just live in the woods.

[ Jesus. ]

It was easier to stay away from people that way.

Well, you're a werewolf, you could. [ like it's not impossible! ] You do have a built in fur coat.

I like being outside, but not that much. I was bitten not born.

[ Which kind of alters a lot. ]

Actually I used to have asthma so the outside used to hate me. I tend to like having a roof.

Most people do, I guess. Homelessness isn't very in vogue. [ she shrugs, makes sense tbh. ]

[ Sweet baby Scott. Never say in vogue to a teenage boy who just doesn't mesh with words like that. Scott does know some big words from his word of the day calendar he doesn't quite grasp the in vogue concept (wis crit fail). ]

Isn't that a Madonna song? [ Raised by a single mom. ]

...yeah, sure. [ never before has lydia's intellect seemed so far superior to beacon hills, wow. ]

Usually isn't. [ omg he's so precious. ] I'm starting to see why you and Stiles were friends.

[ because you're both morons. at least, abigail sounds like it's a compliment? she is dating stiles after all. ]

[ He smiles though when she says that last part. But the were part definitely takes a bit out of him. ]

What do you mean?

[ she doesn't mince words, at least. ] You're both kind of idiots. Which is surprisingly charming on both of you. Although, I have to ask -- [ she steps forward in to his personal space like hello, thin frame not at all menacing as she leans in to lower her voice: ] Is he ever going to stop trying to make me watch Star Wars again? Because there is a reason I fell asleep during it and it's mostly that I don't care even a single iota but he looks so sad every time I say no.

[ look, stiles may be weirded out by someone knowing him, but abigail is sure he'll get over it if they can start fresh and right now, scott knows the most about her boyfriend so fuck the police. knowledge is power. ]

[ He's not sure how to really take that. Having someone call him an idiot is sort of typical. Scott knows that his intelligence has sort of always made it difficult for people to take him seriously. Becoming a werewolf means you need to learn a lot of stuff fast though.

Scott reels back a little. Not too far though. Half expecting something else, but then she asks about Star Wars and he laughs. ]

It's his favorite trilogy. Don't worry. He hounded me about it too. He references it a lot with me and gets mad when my face goes blank.

[ a grin spreads across her face. ] You don't care either? I'm so glad it's not just me.
