The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Allison's mouth draws into a tight line. A bit uncomfortable with the remark, but not to the point that she'll actually comment on it. Instead, she shifts the focus to things she does want answers for.]

Where did the Knights find you?

[cramped]

[ Her reaction isn't lost on him and he feels a stab of guilt but he barrels on. ]

Sacramento.

[risked]

Oh? At least that wasn't too far from Beacon Hills. I ended up in France. Which was odd since I just came back from France. [She smiles, trying to figure out where else to take the conversation.]

[cramped]

That's where I came through too. I went to Sacramento on my own. [ He was looking for Beacon Hills. Which apparently does not exist in this realm. ]

[Allison cants her head, amused at all the travel that Isaac did when he arrived. France to California and now back to London.]

Quite the traveling man.

[cramped]

[ He smiles, gaze flickering back over to her. ]

I guess I better get used to it.

[risked]

Definitely. [Allison smiles at him, relieved that the conversation has shifted away from discussions of forgotten memories and difficult subjects.]

Have you seen much of the castle?

[cramped]

[ Isaac shakes his head. ]

Not really.

If you want, we can go take a quick tour. I'm sure the party'll be fine if we come back to it in a bit.

[cramped]

[ Isaac does a poor job of concealing his interest in her offer even though he's already worked out that it's probably best not to get too attached (bluff 4). ]

Yeah, sure. Why not?

[risked]

Okay. [Allison smiles again, not really catching the interest being anything more than just being happy to know his surroundings (sense motive crit fail)]

Let's go... [She gets to the main doors and glances to both directions and then picks one to start heading down.] ...this way. Do you know which sect you're interested in joining when you get Knighted?

[cramped]

[ A sigh as he begins to follow her. ] Honestly? I haven't given it all that much thought. Everything's been kind of a blur so far.

[risked]

[Allison nods as she walks out into the hallway. It's quiet, with everyone either at the party or trying to avoid getting dragged to the party.]

It's a lot to take on. I'm in Dragon's Hide. A lot of the more skilled fighters are there. Lydia and Stiles are in Dragon's Tongue. It's for people who are good at negotiating or getting things accomplished without fighting.

You'll have time to figure it out.

[cramped]

[ Isaac thinks that Dragon's Tongue doesn't sound at all suited to him. Not that he's always opposed to diplomacy but he knows he isn't the greatest at it. Brute strength has always been his strong suit. But would he consider himself a 'skilled' fight? Allison is skilled. Isaac just kind of hits things until they don't get up anymore. ]

Yeah. I know, you're right. I'm not really worried about it.

[risked]

[She nods and points out another random room. It's probably a lab or some science related thing.]

That's good. Usually, you just sort of settle into something and you meet the others from that Sect and it just makes sense.

[cramped]

Exactly how big is this whole [ he searches a moment for the most appropriate word ] organization, anyway? Are we talking hundreds of people? Or thousands?

[risked]

I think it's more like layers. There's the inner group and those are probably in the hundreds. Then there are all the outliers, the supporters and people that we can rely on when we need something. That probably pushes us closer to the thousands -- especially when you factor in all the Knights that have retired or aren't local. Stationed across the world, doing missions that might have been going on for years.

Jo - she's in the same sect as me, she was on a mission for three years.

[cramped]

Three years. [ Isaac repeats incredulously. ] That's... A long time. [ That's 1/6th of his whole life. ]

[risked]

She's back, though. If you wanted to ask her about it. [Allison shrugs, pointing out another room. Possibly a training room of some sort.]

But not everyone who becomes a Knight goes out on missions either. It just depends on what's needed and if Wynn thinks that you're a good fit.

[cramped]

[ Isaac purses his lips together. He wonders what he might be considered a 'good fit' for. Well... He supposes he'll find out, sooner or later. Hopefully sooner. He's never been all that great at waiting. But at least there looks to be more than enough other things around this place to help keep him occupied, if Allison's tour is anything to go by.

With that thought he slips into more of a contemplative silence, focusing on committing everything that she shows him to memory. ]

[She shows him ALL THE THINGS. Then they round back to the ballroom and she smiles.]

And this is the main ballroom. Which, you are familiar with.

[cramped]

It looks a little familiar. [ He teases. ]

[risked]

[She smiles and gives his forearm a squeeze.]

Well, since I know you won't get lost, I'll leave you to mingle some more.

[cramped]

Yeah, sure. I'll see you later, then. [ Isaac waves her off with a small smile. ]
