after-party ♔ april

♬ Jeux d'eau - Ravel
WHO || Wynn, any and all Knights not currently on missions (if you are uncertain if your character would be at the castle for this, ask!)ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.
WHAT || Squiring Ceremony Afterparty
WHERE || Knights Headquarters, the Ballroom
WHEN || April 1st, 2016, 6:00PM [backdated]
HOW || Prose OR Actionspam
The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.
Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.
Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

She doesn't reply when he tells her that it'll be okay. She knows that eventually it will be. Eventually it'll get straightened out. She'll find answers or she'll just leave it behind. Right now, though, she can't really think about what part she's supposed to let go of. The things she hasn't felt or the things she gave up feeling.
She takes a few steps into the darkness of her room, dropping her heels with an unceremonious clatter to the floor. Her fingers move into her hair, pulling at pins and letting it fall in small gatherings of waves and curls. She didn't shut her door, but she figures Scott will either come in or he'll close it. She can't even be sure which one she wants right now.
Things had been going well. Really well, hadn't they? Why did she press? Why did she need to know why Isaac was upset?
She navigates to her dresser, pulling out a shirt and cotton shorts. The shorts go up under the skirt of her dress before she leans against the edge of the dresser itself to try and attempt to take the dress off. She knows that even though it's dark, Scott can probably see her. She looks up to try and see where he is.]
I can't -- I.
The zipper. [When she wasn't tired and a little inebriated she managed jsut fine on her own, but now she's trapped in this dress.]

He frowns as she struggles. When she just about asks for help Scott moves towards her. His hands don't shake. Which seems to be a nice change of pace. ] Okay. [ He comes up behind her and takes hold of the zipper. He pulls it down slowly to release her from the confines of the dress. Once it's down his hand lingers. Knuckles brushing her back before he steps back away from her. He turns around. ]

Don't go anywhere. [She doesn't know why she told him that, but she did and now she can't take it back. She can't tell him that she changed her mind and really it wouldn't be true. She steps into the bathroom, the light bright and harsh as she flips it on. She blinks through a blurry moment and keeps her eyes squinting as she brushes her teeth of the alcohol taste. She flips off the light and now her own bedroom is even darker to her eyes. The shock of going from the bright of the bathroom to the dark of her room was a mistake.
She's full of mistakes.]
Are you near a lamp? There should be one on a table.

He does as she asks. He looks for a lamp. Which is easy to find with her instruction. Scott finds it simply and turns it on. He blinks at the sudden harsh invasion of brightness and then shakes his head. He steps back and looks in her direction. ] Climb in. I'll be right back. I promise. [ He steps to the door and then disappears into the hallway. ]

I got you a few things to help.

Thanks, Scott. [She releases her fingertip from the thread and glances to the spot beside her on the bed.] Can we talk? Just for a minute, I promise. [She's not really sure if it'll be a minute, but it feels safer just thinking that it'll be quick.]

[ Which is the truth. Even if something did come up Scott wants to be here. Will always want to be right here with her. He approaches her night stand and puts the water along with the meds there. He steps back and then sits next to her on the bed. He turns on the bed a little. Placing a bent knee on it as he faces her like this. One foot still planted on the floor. ]
You okay? [ It's a question that's been on the tip of his tongue since all of this started. ]

When we were talking about Stiles, it was hard for me to understand... [She is trying to make sure she chooses her words right. She knows that the alcohol is probably going to make this harder for her, but she's trying.]
I have a completely different perspective on it, now. [She looks up at him, really looks at him and sees exactly what she'd seen before. Scott McCall. Her first love. Someone she knows she'll always remember, always find. Even if he has a Kira or someone else, she'll still feel that way.]
It's not about leaving the past behind. It's about being afraid of what the past should mean for the present. [She pauses, thinking about how she said that and if it makes sense.]
Tonight... [She smiles, slightly, but it's a genuine smile, even if it isn't so broad. It's still pulled from a real moment, from real feelings that she knows she still has.] Tonight started out really good. Even with the little bit on the balcony, I think if I hadn't - [Her hand rubs at the nape of her neck, already feeling a bit gross from drinking all the alcohol.]
I shouldn't have asked. At least, not tonight. Not when everything had been so nice. When you had been so nice.

He doesn't look at Allison anymore. Instead he focuses on the mattress. Trying hard not to blurt out the first thing that comes to mind. He wants to be careful. He wants to be delicate. He cares about Allison. So much. She's Allison. He's always going to love her. He told that. Told her he'd wait. She told him she was always going to love him as she bled out in his arms. ]
It's still nice, Allison. [ Scott reaches out to take her hand and squeezes it gently. His smile warm. ] I'm not mad. I'm still happy I got to spend the night with you.

Next time - I won't drink so much. [She probably won't drink at all.]

Nodding, she moves to pull at the covers of her bed. It feels a little odd that Scott is helping her get into bed, but she's grateful that he's there for her. Of course, now it's a thought that's weighed down by wondering if she's making him uncomfortable.
She tries to push it aside as she climbs into bed. Her hand reaching to pull at the covers.]
You didn't have to do this for me. [She knows that this is just how Scott is, but she still wants to make sure she expresses it.] I am glad that you did, though.
no subject
I'm always gonna look out for you, Allison. [ He says once she's firmly tucked into her bed. He stares at her for an extra beat. ] Who else is gonna supply you with pens?
no subject
Thanks, Scott. [She smiles again.] I should probably try to sleep.
no subject
I'll check on you tomorrow. Sweet dreams, Allison. [ He steps to the door. ]
no subject
Or... [There's more hesitation. More unsureness as she tries to figure out if she should keep talking.] Or you could stay.
no subject
Of course. [ He steps back towards the bed. ] Anything for you, Allison.

You don't -- I mean, if it's too weird. I just -- [She sighs, softly.] It's been a long night and I don't want to be alone. [She's been alone for two years. Even with Lydia here, it's still not as if they share a room. They both go on missions, both have training, both have other things that they do. She hasn't had someone to be with her, not in a while.]

[ He's been alone for three years. Though that was of his own choosing. He had wanted to isolate himself after what happened with the Beast. It felt better to hide away. Keep himself tucked away in seclusion. Now though he doesn't want to be anywhere except for right here with Allison. Nostalgia and his heart win every time.
For a moment Scott thinks about where he's gonna place himself. Finally he takes a deep breath and goes around to the empty side of the bed. He gets on it and kicks his shoes off. He sits back against the head board and smiles at her. ] I'll stay as long as you need me to.

His offer is so genuine, so 'Scott' that she can't imagine what would have happened if she had forgotten him. To not have him in her life. She can't imagine how Stiles feels, but she can at least understand the notion of having so much of a future already determined and not wanting to hear that things didn't go the way they were meant to go.]
I think once I fall asleep, I won't argue if you leave.

I've got time. [ He reassures her. He relaxes a little bit more. ]

[ Sometimes dealing with strangers feels like a stretch. Despite his past ability to talk to anyone. ]
I miss the woods.

I should take you there one day.
