The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

I cannot even begin to speculate, I'm afraid. Magic works very differently here than the realm I hail from. It will take some time to understand how differently, I would wager. Perhaps once I have a better idea of that, it will direct me to an appropriate match for study.

[ her head tips, considering. ] If I may be so bold. The Dragon's Fire is best suited for magic, though if your magic lends more toward healing, perhaps the Dragon's Light. The other sects are rather light on the magic.

Your advice is well appreciated. I have been told that magic works quite differently here than in the realm I came from.

I have little talent as a healer, I'm afraid. I was known, in my world, as a Somniari. A Dreamer. When we dream, we drift through the Veil into the Fade, a place of spirits and magic. A few of us are capable of enough focus to control those drifts, and where we might wander, and to what purpose. It has given me a rather unique perspective on many things.

A dreamer, [ she repeats softly, as if testing it out. ] That is a rare gift, not unheard of, though not quite the same either. There are a couple women here who have similar gifts, some control over dreams at the very least.

It is a rare gift in my world too. Almost all but lost, in fact. Those who are born to it naturally are few and far between, although there have been a few with the aptitude to train themselves to it. These women you speak of, they are among this Order? [ His brows knit together, intrigued. ]

Yes, though I'm only acquainted with one, Faith O'Keefe, one of our Sir O'Keefes. Her mother, Anastacia, is the other, a lovely woman. I think you'd like her as well. [ which is not a bold statement to make since everyone loves anastacia because she is the best. ] The other is a Sir Zacharov, I've only heard of her abilities secondhand.

[ Recognition flickers through his gaze for a moment. ] I have met the Lady Anastacia. We spoke briefly, shortly after I arrived here. We spoke, a little, of her heritage. It makes sense that her abilities would follow a similar line.

Yes, I've always assumed it was a gift from the Lady of Dreams.

[ It's a title he files away as interesting for further research later, but for the moment, he merely gives her a bow, his smile friendly and polite. ]
