Four days after the briefing, President Kim sends a plane for the team of Knights dispatched by Wynn, and their flight to Seoul—what could have been a grueling 12-hour affair—is spent in the most comfort that can be afforded by a highly regarded politician. The seats are roomy, the staff is attentive, and no one shouts at them to return to their seats.

They're put up in a hotel near the Blue House, the seat of the executive powers of South Korea, where the President-Elect has asked to meet them to go over the security plans for the inauguration.

[ A car comes by to get them in the morning after their flight at 8 AM sharp, black with darkly tinted windows and missing the pomp and circumstance that the U.S. president might have in the form of waving flags to indicate it as a presidential car. ]

Smart woman. She's not advertising. [ Skye makes her commentary through a grueling unpleasantness derived from lack of sleep and dissatisfaction with the morning in general, hair plaited into a braid over her shoulder as she stands at the front of the hotel to climb in with the others. ] I told you we should have stayed with Gus' mom. She wouldn't wake us up at 7 in the morning.

SKYE, WARD

[ Skye whips out of the room in enough of a hurry to give the impression that she wouldn't have any regrets about leaving Ward behind, the backpack with her laptop in it slung over her shoulder. The security officers just outside the door answer her request for directions to the office, pointing her around the corner and further into the office area of the Blue House, and Skye heads that way as Ward comes out behind her. ]

So how does this work. We, like, draw straws?

[ No one had slept well the night before. Jet lag all over the place. And while some of them managed to look composed despite it, Skye wasn't feeling convinced.

But they stood outside the bedroom of the President-Elect while she got ready for bed, in a circle. Each had decided to stay the night there, but they hadn't worked out shifts yet to watch over her as opposed to sleeping. ]
