[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from Dimitris' wedding. 

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. I feel I've just wandered into the world's best performance ring, complete with with back-up sound effects and audience. It's all I ever wanted in life.

Best little show on the planet, really. If we're good, we could take it on the road.

I'd say we could take it on the road anyway, but then we'd have to have a nice trip and I'm not in the mood to fall.

[ somewhere, someone is groaning just as much as dawn will be giving her the rimshot noise. ]

[ Dawn lets out a groan, her face scrunched up like that joke physically hurt. ]

Bah dum ching! You're terrible.

[hawkeing]

I'll be here all week. [ dawn is the literal best audience. ] Or I will when I don't need to wonder what my dog is up to while I'm enjoying my jokes. [ sebastian may or may not be looking around now like he's going to get into trouble soon. she sighs like this is the worst thing. ]

He does like to go dogging around.

Oooooh. Oh no. Nope. That was does not get the noise. No way. Even I have limits.

Really? Where's the fun in that? [ she mock pouts. ] I'll have to step up my game.

[ another day. sebastian's attention has been yanked by... who knows what. something. ]

I should take him out. We might see you later and I'll see what I can do about better puns.

I'm assuming that means I'll be the best, so... yes.

[ sebastian gives a woof, tail wagging. ]

No matter where you go here, there are people who hate Shadowkind-- Italy or London or Prague or Germany or the US, it doesn't matter.

[He shrugs fluidly, his own expression carefully even as Risa grows increasingly irate.]

I hope you at least have the good sense to hate them back.

Great. [ it's a soft huff, part of her emotional walls, like if she just stays upset, people will leave her alone. it usually works.

and then he continues and she raises her eyebrows. ] What, some people don't? I thought that was a given.

The bleeding heart types tend to have a little trouble with that. 'Kill them with kindness,' or however they prefer to phrase it.

[Not exactly his forte. He might not get malicious, but he has trouble turning the other cheek.]

Not my thing. I don't fight needlessly, but I'm not going all kindness on everyone. Someone hurts me, I don't forget it.

[ sort of. maybe once upon a time, she would have turned the other cheek, but not anymore. ]

Neither do I.

[He smirks.]

We have that much in common.

Then we'll have to make sure we don't do that to each other.

[ it feels weird actually liking his company and that makes her want to get away even more. liking people is bad. that ends up in the getting hurt department. ]

[It just might be.]

Right, right. Wouldn't want to keep you.

[He's sure this has used up her quota of people-ing for the day. His smirk quirks higher on one side.]

I'm sure we'll see each other again before long.

[ it definitely has exceeded her quota, which is why she wants to inch for the exit. but hey, they're getting along. that's a plus. for various values of getting along.

she nods. ]

[ and with that, she pulls her hood back up and returns to her hiding. which is mostly just hugging the shadows as she returns to her room. ]
