[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from Dimitris' wedding.

After coming back from his mission, Poe is going to need to rest and heal from his injuries. Or, he's going to be lazy and rest because he got injured and plans to baby himself for while.

Though is someone wants to come baby him, he's not going to complain.

He's going to primarily spend most of his days hanging out in the TV Lounge. Someone introduced him to Netflix and he's currently making his way through a tv series about a foursome of military rebels wanted by the military but go around helping people because it's the right thing to do. It just resonates with him, okay?

When he's healed up a bit more, he will take some time at the firing range to keep his skills up. Plus after what happened, he probably needed to carry a second gun on him and since he only had one blaster, it was time to learn the earth gun everyone called Excalibur.

After lunch, he will stop by in R&D and see if there has been any developments with fixing his X-Wing. He will gladly talk about all the tech he knows about from his world that while he can't remember his own past, he can pretty much talk tech all day. BB-8 will usually be at his side, performing his own diagnostic check and beeping at anyone who will listen as he pokes around at interesting things.

And well, anyone who is in the kitchen around 3am may find the hungry pilot making toast. It's a thing.

"Are you watching the A-Team?"

It's hard not to miss the sound of Mr. T and considering that this is a TV series that Malina essentially grew up with, it's not hard to pick out the familiar catch phrases as she's walking past the door. She's also not going to wait for his permission to sit, and simply move around the couch to sit next to him and reach for his popcorn.

It existing with an empty seat next to him is clearly an invitation, right?

Poe glanced over and smiled, and then held out the bowl. "I believe that's what it's called. I can't really read the screen with the words - still learning your letter system for words."

"It's a good show." She won't comment on his inability to read, or lack thereof. It's a common problem coming through the Veil and most of them pick it up sooner or later. "I used to watch it when I was a kid."

"I don't really remember what I watched as a kid. But I can tell that this kind of tech isn't what I would have watched it on. We had holos. But if there was a holo of this kind of show, I would have been all over it."

"Holos?" Malina frowns as she leans back against the couch curiously. "Like holograms? How did that work?"

"Yeah. you guys call it something like four D? It projects from the bottom and displays in the air above the projector."

[bredinthebone]

"Oh." She makes a small face at that before shaking her head. "I've never really been a plan of 3D. I mean, my life is enough of an action-adventure movie as it is. I don't need the fake ones trying to convince me that this could happen in real life."

She's already all too aware that it could.

"I like to keep my distance, if that makes any sense."

"No, I get it. I mean, I'm still trying to get used to this flatness." He waved his hand at the screen. "My eyes have a hard time adjusting when it first starts."

She nods in agreement. "I get that. Everyone always has a hard time adjusting to something new."

[newgenwraith]

"I figure I'll get there. I mean, gotta adapt, right?"

She nods in agreement with a small smile. "Everyone does. And you'll get there eventually - it'll just take a little time."

[newgenwraith]

"Well, time I got. As long as I don't get shot again."

[ambitionist]

[alex was going to sneak into the kitchen for a midnight snack, only to discover that someone else beat him to it and is already using pretty much the only kitchen appliance he has a successful usage rate with. but then ... it's poe. and he doesn't mind seeing him around, not at all. he maybe even beams a little because he's the one who showed poe how to use the toaster. he's so proud.]

How're you liking the toaster? [it's a bland statement on its own, but coming out of alex's mouth it's somewhere between playful and flirtatious.]

[Poe turned to look at his friend, smiling at him. Ignore the fading bruising around his neck, Alex. Obviously nothing happened.]

Very much. I've been experimenting with things between the pieces of bread while it is warm.

[ambitionist]

[alex ignores it if only because that is how he enjoys being treated when he walks around sporting very conspicuous injuries. and being poe's florence nightingale maybe isn't his number one priority at the moment.]

Experimenting, huh? Like what?

[Poe is going to hold up a jar of Nutella]

I found this in a cabinet. This stuff is amazing.

You know what's really good? Peanut butter and Nutella together. [he moves over to a cabinet and starts shuffling through it, finally grabbing a box of generic boring cereal and tilting it so that ... a jar of peanut butter falls out into his waiting hand. so exciting. so hidden. he explains:] It's hard to get here in England, and what they charge for it is fuckin' highway robbery. I'm protective of my stash. [and then a smile as he sets the jar on the counter] But you can try it if you want.

Hey, if you're willing to share, I'm not going to say no. You haven't steered me wrong yet.

I try my best. [a grin] You settling in okay?

I was, until I went off on my first job. That was not at all what I was expecting.

[ambitionist]

What happened?

[newgenwraith]

The target had like some crazy Force powers and choked me up pretty good. [he'll tilt his neck and the bruises that are fading show better] And then I got shot from my own gun.

[ambitionist]

[well, that explains the bruising. although poe's explanation leaves him with all these new questions, such as:] What do you mean, Force powers? And how'd you get shot from your own gun?

From how it was explained - it was like magic. She was able to manipulate the air around me to tighten around my neck, or to bounce the laser blast back at me.
