EARTH-11 ♔ JUST ISN'T HOW I ENVISIONED IT

It's hard to notice right away. For the most part, everything looks normal. The toilets flush in the right direction. The sky's still up. The buildings are still scraping the clouds. But something about it feels wrong, and the details come in waves.

The first wave is that no one is in the castle, or in England, or even in Saudi. It's hard to tell where they are, except it's close to the equator. Warm. Sunny. And a city. Maybe they're lucky. Maybe someone's there to greet them, if not in this bed that isn't theirs, then in this apartment that isn't theirs, or this house.

But out in the streets, things get stranger. Gone are the gleaming glass and metal frames of the skyscrapers, replaced with statuesque marble shaped into hellenic curves. Everything is bright colors and bronze. The metal coins people trade for currency have a wolf's head stamped on them, valid only in the Republic of Midgard.

The world is wrong. And no one but those in the room with Loki and Jordan seem to remember why.


[ ooc note; WHILE THE SAUDI ARABIA MISSION wraps up their encounter with Loki, everyone is invited to play in the whackadoodle AU that Loki created by making Jordan grant his wish to rule a world full of all the things Loki desires, where Thor is nowhere to be found. Consider this your dystopian/framework/everyone's dead AU event. Please note that only mission characters will remember the events of Earth-11, as they've only been transported to a parallel universe. Everything you play is for fun, not for character arc. ]

I wasn't at the castle, itself. Jordan's stupid genie magic dropped me in the lake. But-- [ caroline sighs, deflating a bit. she'd gotten over davin not believing her because he'd come after her anyway and that meant he had faith in her, right? but now strangers are here to think she's insane and that's just. great. ]

He has ice... creatures. A bunch of the statues up the main driveway aren't statues, they're knights encased in ice. The rest come to life and try to kill you.

[recycling]

[ davin looks away Dramatically ] You can't be thinking about taking him head-on.

[hacker]

They're not going to. They think ... Thor is going to help somehow.

[highlyemotional]

Did Jane find him?

[starprince]

They're uh... working on that.

[hacker]

Finding him isn't the hard part. He's at the same place every day at high noon. Getting into the colosseum, though ...

[highlyemotional]

All of which is, no offence, irrelevant, because Loki has a genie at his disposal. Poof Thor is a poodle.

[ this is what caroline thinks is the Big Picture. ] We need to find Jordan and, I dunno, his lamp. God, I do sound insane.

[starprince]

Right, but we need the big guy for a distraction in the first place.

[hacker]

Let's not get our hopes up here. [ she looks at peter like oh ffs did you drink the koolaid too. ] They think Thor's going to make a difference. But there's no way to be sure. [ she looks back at caroline. ] Getting in is going to be hard enough, let alone stealing something. Loki's careful. Do you even know where he's keeping this thing?

[highlyemotional]

[ dryly: ] You know, I didn't think to ask.

[recycling]

I do. [ he doesn't sound super eager to say it, but it drags out of him nevertheless ] At least, I have an idea of where.

[highlyemotional]

[ caroline turns her head so slowly. ] What?

[hacker]

You do?

[ the look on daisy's face is the look of a world coming down around her.

if someone can find the lamp ... if they can pull this off ... the whole world will change.

will kali be alive again? what about everything that's happened since? will it just not matter? will she lose peter? ]

[highlyemotional]

[ it's in the middle of daisy's existential crisis that it hits caroline. davin chose to stay behind, he was having his angst about having to kill her because those were loki's orders, he'd made his bed... of course he would know, because he was working for loki.

she recoils, but doesn't go so far as to rip her hand out of his, stepping closer to him because he doesn't deserve personal space anymore, jaw tight, voice low. ]

Who else is here? [ third time she's asked, maybe she'll get an answer this time. ]

[recycling]

No one you want to fight. You're talking about suicide.

[highlyemotional]

The only thing worse than dying here would be living here.

[hacker]

We already tried talking the others out of it. Believe me. If she's anything like them, trying to stop her won't go anywhere.

[recycling]

[ UGH. fine. ] Regina... and Emma Swan. I know they're there, for certain.

[highlyemotional]

[ the horse lady that lives in the lake? thanks castle gossip. she frowns, drawing her hand back from davin to curl her arms around herself, stepping away from him. ]

They're magic.

[hacker]

They're traitors. Thrall or not, if they're sticking it out here after what happened, they gave up their oaths.

[highlyemotional]

[ that is irrelevant to caroline. ] I can't fight magic.

[starprince]

Do you have some kind of condition, or...

[hacker]

Yeah, I ... can't tell if this is just negative thinking.

[highlyemotional]

[ caroline rolls her eyes. and bares her fangs in an awkward smile. ]

Witches usually throw fire? I'm pretty flammable.
