A several year operation investigating a Consortium known as PTC run by a mysterious man - now revealed to be a ogre - named Estavan has led to the discovery that he made a a business deal with a trio of demons. To no one's surprise, that did not end well, and Estavan has asked the Knights for help in setting things right. Estavan has asked the Knights to head to his warehouse in London and keep the creatures busy while he goes to meet with the Consortium's Ruling Council to find a way to take care of them. While Phineas, the Doctor, Val'drin, and Alec stay behind to clean things up at Estavan's home, Cordelia and Kate phone for back-up to meet them downtown at the warehouse.

They meet up in the warehouse district of the city, outside the large building.  There are several empty trucks parked out in the lot, but otherwise, no visible lights on, and only one door set in the side of it, and a few closed heavy loading doors.

[Kate nods in agreement and starts steering the forklift up towards the platform (drive 8 action point says 22).]

[ the chanting at least seems to be coming from a singular source, not a whole crowd. they come to a halt on the platform, and look ahead to see a narrow canyon of crates that leaves just enough room for them to walk through, but not enough to move the forklift through. ]

[That's fine, it'll just give them somewhere to escape to. She'll park the forklift, before nodding towards the path ahead of them.]

Let's go check it out.

[Topher follows with his gun held low, like he's in a first person shooter or something.]

[ cordelia goes behind topher, gun held STRAIGHT OUT at his back and she also swings it up above at times, just iN CASE ]

[Kate follows as well, doing her best to follow the chanting while still seeing what's going on (spot 18, listen 11).]

[ ahead, the crates open into a wider space, where seven large demonic birds circle around, apparently the source of the noise. but she has no more than gotten a glimpse of this before a tunnel of flames comes pouring down between the crates. all of them can make a reflex save DC 16 to halve the damage, otherwise they take 21 fire damage, as the efreeti from earlier materializes at the opening. time for initz! ]

[astrid just BARELY makes the ref save (literally ref 16) and is left just staring like what the hell??? what did we do to deserve this???? fuckin jesus. but she remembers guns actually working on this asshole despite initial apprehension so time to shoot at him ig. (atk 21; 5 dmg...)]

[Time for the first action point of the day since Topher's original roll was not even remotely a 16. Topher teeters on the edge of almost getting hit, but pulls it back at the last minute (RS 20). HE'S STILL VERY MUCH BURNED, WHICH SUCKS.]

Whatever you guys do... Don't let me get turned to stone again. [and he's gonna fire off his own shot (atk 16, dmg 9... if that hits. HE WILL BE RAMBO AGAIN.]

[ astrid's shot flies straight through the crates, striking the efreeti and making his shoulder recoil. topher's shot just barely hits the efreeti, who is apparently unprepared for the assault so far.

he's clearly prepared now. he comes floating down between the crates, sparking flecking off from him, starting the wooden crates smoldering here and there.

"I warned you," he says menacingly, slamming downward with a flaming fist right at astrid, that feels a lot like getting hit by a mack truck that's on fire (atk 34, dmg 11 + 2 fire). ]

Won't you just die already?? [ cordelia shouts petulantly, firing her weapon too quickly as she finds the thing right on top of them and missing (atk 13). the vrocks continue weirdly circling and chanting... a dark miasma of energy forming in between them all... but that abruptly fizzles out, leaving the creatures to let out indignant frustrated squawks ]

[will everything in this damn warehouse stop burning him? (rs 16) so since he barely made it he gets to spend some time making sure his already ruined suit isn't ruined further. #priorities

No seriously that's literally all he does while he tries to get some space to figure out a plan of attack.]

[Kate makes her reflex save, probably by the benefit of being at the back of the line (reflex save 21). She will join in the shooting it though (attack 29, damage 6, attack nat 20, damage 12 if not immune to crits, 6 if it is).]

[FUCKING RUDE. astrid is innocent! she has done nothing wrong in her entire life! SHE DID NOT ASK TO BE ON FIRE. she screeches like a dying cat, but she's still standing. if not also slightly singed.

watch her double down on her effort to murder this bitch. she fires again. (atk 26; 19 dmg with penetration. double penetration even ........ )]

[Seeing the efreeti getting beaten up, and also Astrid getting lit on fire a little bit, Topher decides to turn his gun on one of the vrocks (atk 18, dmg 7 if it hits). He played some duck hunt as a kid. How hard can this be??]

[ well, fuck, kate's attack actually brings down the efreeti, who falls to the ground, his flames extinguishing as he collapses in a heap. i'm gonna assume that dying cat astrid shoots at a vrock instead - and with a spot of 25, she realizes that six of the vrocks are seeming to parrot after one of the others, and that their movements seem to mimic his. her shot strikes the prime vrock... and the others abruptly fade in and out of existence before vanishing - merely an illusion. topher aims at the only remaining vrock now, but his bullet doesn't seem able to pierce through its thick feathers. ]

Oh thank God, I thought we were gonna be here all day. [ she lets off another shot in that direction, but goes incredibly wide, and the vrock wheels around, letting off from whatever summoning ritual it had been doing to start down the tunnel of crates in their direction. as it approaches, it lets out a hideous screech that seems to pierce to the heart of them. everyone must make a fort save DC 17 or be stunned and unable to act for the next round ]

[with a fort save of 27 he shrugs off the shriek and his weird suit thing from earlier and prepares to intercept the vrock if it decides to charge at someone.]

[Nope, Kate does not even get close to that fort save (fort save 8) and the screech seems to shake her to the core, her gun faltering for the moment and freezing in place.]

[Topher... crit failed.

So he's fucked.]

[with a fort save of 22, astrid is still around and moving. still singed, still furious at the never-ending shitshow that her life has become. she's not going to start off with shooting at it, but she will ready the action in case it gets too close or starts to come at someone.]

[ cordy is definitely stunned by the screech, and it keeps coming directly at them, but swoops up right before engaging anyone in melee... which will give astrid a clear shot. ]

[guess what, astrid is still imbued with THE POWER OF ANGER which turns her into an expert marksman ig. (atk 29, 7 dmg) ]

[ the bullet strikes its flank, blood spurting from its wound, and as it sweeps upward with an annoyed squawk, a mass of spores comes from its underside, dealing four damage as they strike astrid with surprising force, slamming against her skin and lodging there. ]

[what the fuck is that.

still prepared to intercept since there's not a lot else he can do right now.]

[Apparently it's the swarm of spores that causes Kate to snap out of her stunned state, and she immediately tries to shoot the thing again, using her double tap feat on the first shot (attack 23 (14 + 11 - 2), damage 12 if it hits), and then throwing in one more shot for good measure (attack 17, damage 9 if that hits).]
