Hasmed's announcement does not brook any rebuttal: all Knights are recalled to the Castle, where they must remain until the Section Heads and Jack Chessing have spoken about the events in Los Angeles that have left the Knighthood without their usual leader.  

The entire Los Angeles area is now covered with a dark miasma that has interfered with any signals that might be sent out from phones, etc., leaving the whole world wondering what exactly is happening down there.  Final images showed horrendous monsters, a panic of citizens, looting and violence from humans and Shadowkind alike.  

Hasmed has warned of extra magical wards on the castle, and anyone arriving will immediately take notice of one very prominent one: above the entire roof of the excessively large building hovers a black and red sigil in the air, a pentagram in a circle surrounded by runes or words in an unknown language, stretching for miles.  

[ This is the social log for post-LA lockdown.  Failboat must complete the top log before being allowed to tag outside of it. ]

I don't really know. Is bringing someone in to be a squire even an option right now?

It might be unusual, but if she were to meet with one of us section heads... possible? Until Wynn comes back, that is. Then we could make it more, er, official.

Seems a better idea than bringing her here. I'd go myself, but I need to look over these Hellsing troops.

Do you have any suggestions? I'm not very familiar with the other section heads. [Also he was thinking about coming clean to Lois about his heritage but lol nope. Not if someone important is coming with him and they're all paranoid about who they can trust.]

Hasmed and Solace are bound to be busy... What about Koraith?

[With a wis check of 10, Clark struggles to remember what sect Koraith heads up.]

He's in charge of the Dragon's....tonsils? The diplomats.

Right. Sorry, I didn't sleep well last night. So should I just head down to his office or could you call him for me?

[ironsides]

I'll make him aware and tell him to get a hold of you quickly.

[clarkfuckingkent]

I really appreciate it. [The relief in his expression is hard to miss. He makes his way to the door.] Thank you again, sir.

[ironsides]

Let's hope we can talk her down off putting us on page one, mm?

[clarkfuckingkent]

[With a grim nod, Clark opens the door.]

I'll do my best, sir. [And with that, he leaves to go keep himself busy until Koraith contacts him.]

[ koraith is quick to come track him down at least ] Sir Kent?

[clarkfuckingkent]

[Only one person should be looking for him right now. Clark turns and holds out a hand to shake. They've probably interacted in passing, but if this is the guy that's going to help him out, he wants to make a good impression.]

Aye, that's me. Dovan told me about your... situation. Perhaps you could tell me a bit about your friend?

[clarkfuckingkent]

She's a good person. [He just really feels like he needs to establish that early on.] Persistent is an understatement, but it's usually about finding out the truth so bad people can't hide in the shadows. She's a reporter, and I think she can get caught up in the idea of a story, so she doesn't always see the trouble she's about to walk into.

[koraith]

I see. And she first learned of your contact with us via the mission at Luthorcorp... is that correct?

[clarkfuckingkent]

Yeah, she... has a habit of sticking her nose where it doesn't belong. She was the whole reason I was there at all. I wanted to make sure she didn't get herself killed.

[koraith]

How do you feel about the idea of... perhaps bringing her in, so to speak?

[clarkfuckingkent]

Considering everything that's going on? It makes me nervous. [Shit is getting real dangerous in their world, okay.]

But she's not going to back off. So it's either that or we try to convince her not to run the story for the greater good. [He doesn't think that option would go so well. He can already hear her telling him that the real greater good involves getting the truth out there. Or something like that.]

[koraith]

What I meant, I suppose, was... do you think she would be a good fit for what we do?

[clarkfuckingkent]

[He goes quiet for a moment.]

I want to say no. Because what we do is dangerous, and the idea of her being here when the castle collapsed or at that concert... [He shakes his head.]

She's one of the few people I have left from a life that's at least a little simpler than this. Which feels weird to say, since my life has never felt all that simple. But she's a good person who wants to find the truth and see justice served. Not to mention, she throws a hell of a punch. I think she could do a lot of good here.

[koraith]

Then let's go meet with her, shall we? I will stay at a distance until you've explained things to her.

[clarkfuckingkent]

[He nods but doesn't look super confident.]

Would you do it, sir? Bring a friend in when things are this dangerous?
