Hasmed's announcement does not brook any rebuttal: all Knights are recalled to the Castle, where they must remain until the Section Heads and Jack Chessing have spoken about the events in Los Angeles that have left the Knighthood without their usual leader.  

The entire Los Angeles area is now covered with a dark miasma that has interfered with any signals that might be sent out from phones, etc., leaving the whole world wondering what exactly is happening down there.  Final images showed horrendous monsters, a panic of citizens, looting and violence from humans and Shadowkind alike.  

Hasmed has warned of extra magical wards on the castle, and anyone arriving will immediately take notice of one very prominent one: above the entire roof of the excessively large building hovers a black and red sigil in the air, a pentagram in a circle surrounded by runes or words in an unknown language, stretching for miles.

[Caeden is all swaddled up, but awake for once. Good timing, Grandpa. His large eyes are wide and slow to blink, so there's no telling how long it'll last. The joy of newborns.]

[ he approaches slowly, pulling a little rattle out of his pocket ] Did someone say 'presents'?

[succubestie]

[She chuckles.]

I'm sure he would if he could talk yet.

[The baby blinks slowly, eyes locked on the thing making all that noise.]

Is it just me, or does he look an awful lot like... well... me?

It's just you, dad. [Surprise! Andrew is here! He can't help but grin, still in that proud papa euphoria.] You just get in?

[All babies kind of look like old men, right? It's the whole mostly bald thing.

Bo moves a bit closer as Andrew pops in.]

Do you want to hold him?

Is that alright? [ he looks over at andrew ] It's been some time since I've held a baby.

You can sit down and hold him if you're nervous about it. [It's kind of funny seeing his dad all unsure, but considering he also still feels like he might break his baby, he gets it.]

You both say that as if I had a whole lot of baby practice before all this.

[But okay, she'll wave Daddy Gatewood over to a chair to sit and then pass off Caeden with some assistance, making sure Grandpa has his arms in the right places.]

[ well, instinct takes over apparently b/c he gets a 15 handle animal and starts bouncing the kiddo lightly in his arms ] What a handsome lad you are.
