chapter five ♔ it'll be a day like this one when the sky falls down

the blues - switchfoot
WHO || The Knights
WHAT || Failboat returns from the disaster in LA as the Knighthood goes on lockdown
WHERE || The castle, London
WHEN || Directly after this, Fall 2017
HOW || Actionspam
Hasmed's announcement does not brook any rebuttal: all Knights are recalled to the Castle, where they must remain until the Section Heads and Jack Chessing have spoken about the events in Los Angeles that have left the Knighthood without their usual leader.
The entire Los Angeles area is now covered with a dark miasma that has interfered with any signals that might be sent out from phones, etc., leaving the whole world wondering what exactly is happening down there. Final images showed horrendous monsters, a panic of citizens, looting and violence from humans and Shadowkind alike.
Hasmed has warned of extra magical wards on the castle, and anyone arriving will immediately take notice of one very prominent one: above the entire roof of the excessively large building hovers a black and red sigil in the air, a pentagram in a circle surrounded by runes or words in an unknown language, stretching for miles.
[ This is the social log for post-LA lockdown. Failboat must complete the top log before being allowed to tag outside of it. ]

bo + baby caeden ; ota
Granted, she probably could have hid away if she wanted to, but that's not Bo's style, so not long after having her little one and having a kiss or two to heal herself right back up, she's walking the halls with her tiny newborn tucked comfortably in the crook one arm.
In the wake of disaster, she has people she needs to see.]

This time, there's a new face with Bo. Not that she's close with the woman, but she's seen her around. She smiles, warmly.]
Wow, I'm having one of those 'I can't believe my daughter was ever that small' moments.
no subject
She smiles warmly.]
See, and here I keep trying to figure out how he fit in there for so long.
no subject
Oh, that's definitely a thing, too. It's like you look at every part of them and think, "I made that. I made that eye." It's surreal.
I mean, there was a time when I didn't even like making a bed.
no subject
[She laughs at that.]
I still don't like making the bed.

The kid, though, is obviously hers and even more obviously half human. Toby knows a Changeling when she sees one. She nods, making eye contact.]
Cute kid.

Thank you. [She brushes back the baby's dark hair.] His name is Caeden.

[She tries not to think about the timing too much.]
I didn't know it'd take him two years to make his appearance. [She grins.] Bo, nice to meet you.

[ the stampede of a two year old's ungainly running and her mother calling after her comes before the sight of said two year old rounding the corner. she stops when she spots bo, eyes big and wide, but turns back toward her mother, hands on hips. "Momma, no. I need to."
SHE WILL BE FREE TO RUN, MOTHER. DO NOT SEEK TO STOP HER!
her attention goes back to bo, pointing to the blanket bundle. "My baby?" ]
no subject
You like babies, don't you? You were one yourself not that long ago.
[Her eyes flick up to Vi as she comes over, letting her know that all of this is perfectly fine with her.]
no subject
Congratulations. Finally. Andrew told me last night when he was grabbing you clothes, sorry I delayed him. [ her lopsided smile means she's not that sorry, she needed his big hug. ]
Oh he's perfect, Bo.
no subject
[She grins, not bothered in the slightest. Andrew probably got to gush, so no problems whatsoever.]
Isn't he just? I can't stop staring at him. [She looks at Lucia.] Would you like to hold him? You can sit in my lap and I'll help you.

Waiting until she knew that Andrew was out of their room for a while
there may have been some spying, Rose knocks lightly on the door, hoping not to wake Bo or the baby, but knowing she couldn't wait for a better moment under the circumstances.]no subject
[Clearly, Bo has been used to visitors since the birth, which is not particularly surprising. Since she's in her room, she's dressed in a warm and comfortable nightgown. Little Caeden is wrapped in a swaddle and is currently sleeping in the crook of her arm as she sits in an armchair.]
no subject
I really hope he's not planning on being this late for everything.

+ andrew eventually
Such a mush. The largest of mushes.
So when she sees Bo wandering through the halls, baby in tow, it's probably not a good idea for her to just walk right up and start cooing at the poor thing, but it's what's going down right now.]
Oh my God he's so precious and tiny. Was he just born?
no subject
Bo is 100% showing off as much as possible.]
Mhmm, just yesterday. He picked quite a time for his entrance.
no subject
[Yep, totally enamored. He's going to be a heartbreaker. When she turns her attention to Caeden, her voice goes up a pitch for some definite baby talk.]
Look at your little cheeks! You're like a little Pillsbury Dough Boy.

Over here!

You're a lifesaver, Ella. I'm starving.
[She moves to the side, waving her in.]

[ what with being undead and all. but she has brought enough food to feed a starving mum and she does come in carrying what seems to be a vat of stew and also a box of sandwiches topped with a small wrapped box, all of which she sets carefully on andrew's desk. ]
