Hasmed's announcement does not brook any rebuttal: all Knights are recalled to the Castle, where they must remain until the Section Heads and Jack Chessing have spoken about the events in Los Angeles that have left the Knighthood without their usual leader.  

The entire Los Angeles area is now covered with a dark miasma that has interfered with any signals that might be sent out from phones, etc., leaving the whole world wondering what exactly is happening down there.  Final images showed horrendous monsters, a panic of citizens, looting and violence from humans and Shadowkind alike.  

Hasmed has warned of extra magical wards on the castle, and anyone arriving will immediately take notice of one very prominent one: above the entire roof of the excessively large building hovers a black and red sigil in the air, a pentagram in a circle surrounded by runes or words in an unknown language, stretching for miles.  

[ This is the social log for post-LA lockdown.  Failboat must complete the top log before being allowed to tag outside of it. ]

[ caroline nods slowly. after elena, her self-esteem tells her that the reality is that rey changed her mind and is simply trying to find a way to let caroline down easy.

as such she plasters a fragile smile on her face. she's fine. ]

Okay. Are you going with her?

When you guys leave? Yeah. I'm planning on it, anyway.

[He looks to her packing in progress.]

....Or are you gonna leave now anyway?

[ she shakes her head. ]

I won't leave without Rey.

[ like rey convinced her in the first place. if she goes, caroline will go, but she certainly isn't going to venture off into the world on her own. she clearly makes disastrous friend decisions on her own. no thank you, she'd probably befriend a serial killer next time. ]

[He nods.]

Then we're here for you until then, alright?

[He goes for optimism because that's all he's got to offer right now.]

I'm sure it won't take long.

[ caroline softens the tiniest bit at that because it is sweet. ]

Did she tell you why I need to be kept safe? [ not that caroline can't take care of herself, but still. she would/will need someone to watch her back here. ]

[Finn's wisdom check was horrific so he just seems to pause like he hadn't thought of that at all.]

...Come to think of it, no. She didn't.

[She just told her she needed it so Finn was like YOU GOT IT]

Hellsing is morally opposed to vampires. [ she gestures at herself. ] Vampire.

[Things he did not expect. His expression quickly shifts from surprised to genuinely interested, though.]

Really? Wow, I would have never guessed. Not that I knew what one would even look or act like but-

[He's just gonna....shut up now.]

[ okay these weird space people are really throwing her since she is still convinced everyone will be like KILL THE BEAST, BURN THE WITCH, and they're like "cool" ]

Oh, no I don't act like regular vampires. [ look at her. she is sunshine. ] And I can hang out in the sun, obviously, even if I can't get a tan anymore.

[A vampire is no weirder than some of the aliens he's encountered in his space travels, okay.]

And these people hate you....why? You're clearly one of the good guys if you're here.

I'm a vampire, I can't be good. I can pretend and control my basic instincts but to the rest of the world I'm just... evil, soulless, a monster. [ you know, the usual. ]

[militarized]

Believe or not, I know what that feels like.

[He'd hid what he was to Rey for ages, lied to her about his origins, before he told her the truth.]

It's stupid, though. They don't know what they're talking about. Don't let anyone make you feel differently.

[ ignores the rest because she's too invested in feeling terrible about herself right now ]

Yeah, I um...before I met Rey, I was a stormtrooper. [He pauses, realizing that isn't going to mean jack to her.] Basically, I was trained by the bad guys to follow orders and just...kill. When I defected, I had to basically lie about who I was because I knew they just see me just like the rest of them.

But Rey, she cared about me anyway.

[highlyemotional]

Rey has a big heart, [ caroline offers uselessly. they both know that, she doesn't need to say it. ]

I don't, kill. I try not to, at least. I don't want to be what they think I am.

[militarized]

Yeah. She really does.

[This is all stuff he assumed. After all, Wynn wouldn't put up with that. None of them would.]

Just because you're a vampire, it doesn't mean you're evil. If this Hellsing has a problem with that, then they'll have to go through us. They can't just come in here and hurt our people.

[ it's roughly the same thing rey said and caroline feels the familiar rush of warmth that people care about her??? and not because she's useful, simply because she exists.
