Sidelined from the mission that has been many of their lives for years, the group who had once stood against Keijen Blade has made a dangerous gambit - they've decided to leave the Knighthood, knowing they may never be allowed to return.  With them, have gone Sam and Dean Winchester, and Faith Lehane.  Their destination?  A distant monastery overlooking the village of Krozna, in the Ural Mountains.   This hidden location was home to many Shadowkind who did not wish to deal with the prejudice that their appearance might force upon them out in the world, particularly in Russia.  Wynn had apparently established a location here for Knights that broke the rules of the Knighthood so extremely to reflect upon their crimes, or for those whose powers made it impossible for them to live out in civilized society.

This monastery of misfits is run by a man named Mikhail Kalachnik, a willing exile who volunteered for the position, a man vouched for as trustworthy by both Jack Chessing and Finnick Odair.  It is here that the former Knights will set up a base of operations from which they intend to rescue Rafael Giovanni, research a way to stop Keijen Blade, and take him down once and for all, along with the evil Mind Master.  

But first, they must get to know the exiled Knights with whom they will be sharing this hideout...

[ failboaters, i'm sure u have a lot of questions about this place and all the weird fuckin people here in which case you can totally go to finnick (don't.) or maybe his krozna fam wants to be like "hey what's up why did you bring literally everyone you know here and when are you leaving again." all questions he is totally and fully equipped to handle as a person with a definite totally firm grip on reality who doesn't spend all his time sleeping and crying in his room. yep. everything is a-ok.

but really tho he mostly does keep to himself and in his room, unless he's wandering around looking for myri or returning to his new (new to you anyway maybe) hobby: drawing shitty pictures of ocean life.]

[There's a soft knock on Finnick's door at some point when he's in there alone.]

Finnick? It's David. Just... thought I'd check in- see how you're doing.

[he opens the door and seems relieved to see it's david and not idk failboat on fire.]

Hey, David. I'm okay. I haven't ... been confused in awhile. I think seeing my family helps ground me.

[uncease]

That's great. [He smiles, clearly genuinely glad that Finnick is keeping it together.]

I'm a little worried how the others are going to handle so many new faces.

[he nods.] I'm worried for the others and for the people who came. I think there's a lot of potential for conflict, and I'm not sure how some of them will handle children being around.

[uncease]

I don't think Mik would put anyone at risk. If he sees a problem, we may have to move you guys to the village to keep everyone safe and calm. [Charming is kind of a big fan of Mik and trusts him to keep things running smoothly.]

Any idea how long you guys will be staying?

I know, I know. I think everyone will be fine, but Myri was worried about it, so I'm worried because she's worried. Does that make sense?

[he latches onto the new subject, grateful to not talk about that one anymore 👀 ] I'm not sure. It's not safe for us at the castle anymore, but I don't think Jack intends for it to be a permanent headquarters.

[uncease]

Not safe? [He can't help but feel a little panic. He still knows people back there. Not many. Okay he's mostly worried about Emma.]

What about the rest of the Knights?

Our mission team is being treated like a threat because of who we've been in contact with. I ... I don't think anyone here is a threat, but I can't say the suspicion's not with good reason. [LOOK AT HIM Y'ALL. DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT HE WENT THROUGH he's not gonna be like yeah the mind master's nbd it's all good.] Jack wanted to go somewhere safer to regroup. Somewhere we couldn't be easily found.

[graveflowers]

[ knock knock knock, vi takes a moment to speak to finnick (finally) while myri has both girls. ]

It's me. Uh, it's Vi.

[he holds the door open, not surprised to see his bro at the door.]

Hey.

[yep. articulate.]

Do you wanna take a walk? [ it's kind of less fun when it's freezing, but vi has charming's spare parka in her arms so at least she prepped ahead this time. ]

Sure, just give me one second.

[finnick already has a winter gear since ... you know, he lived here for awhile. he moves into his room to suit up. it was more than a year and he still can't say he's used to it. from the whole five times he went outside.]

You can come in if you want. Do you need anything, like a scarf, or...? [winter things. gloves. a hat?]

[graveflowers]

[ vi awkwardly slips inside. ] Maybe a scarf, the hood doesn't exactly stay on.

[the room itself is austere; he didn't put much time into decorating. however, there are some shitty drawings of sea creatures (and one sort of ok drawing) pinned up on the wall. he found himself a hobby that wasn't alcoholism or knot-tying, apparently. and that's something. he pulls a (big and puffy) jacket out of the closet for himself, and a scarf for vi. it's wooly and green.]

I can give you a hat too, if you want. [after a beat, he adds, casually:] I hate the cold. I didn't know how much I hated the cold until I came here.

[graveflowers]

[ vi wraps the scarf around her head like a hat so when finnick offers one she just shoves it down so her head is ready to be hatted. ]

Yeah, the cold is something else. Why couldn't the middle of nowhere be like an uninhabited island in the Med?

[he passes over a beanie to go with her ensemble. meanwhile, he'll bundle up, too.]

Maybe having a place like this in a place with nice weather would feel like too much of a reward.

[he thinks about how the hunger games had a tendency to favor extreme environments ... but mentioning it feels like too much. maybe if he can stop talking about it, he won't have episodes anymore. everything's all good over here fam.]

[ mikhail will stop by his room eventually, rapping knuckles softly outside the door ]

We certainly did not expect to see you again so soon, friend.

[he opens the door and tries to smile, the corner of his mouth slanting slightly.]

I didn't expect to be back so soon. The quickest turnaround you've had, I imagine.

Something of a boomerang, da. How are you feeling about this?

[65]

I... I don't know. It doesn't bother me being back, not like this. I'm just worried about Myri and my daughter.

That was them, then.

How was it? Seeing them?

[65]

Good! It's good. I like seeing them. I feel like having them around helps ground me here. I just ... it's scary, too. I worry that I might lose control. Or Myri might change her mind about me. I wouldn't blame her.

Have you spoken with her about it?

We talked. I think we're going to ... start over. Clean slate. But that doesn't mean there's not still time for her to change her mind.
