Sidelined from the mission that has been many of their lives for years, the group who had once stood against Keijen Blade has made a dangerous gambit - they've decided to leave the Knighthood, knowing they may never be allowed to return.  With them, have gone Sam and Dean Winchester, and Faith Lehane.  Their destination?  A distant monastery overlooking the village of Krozna, in the Ural Mountains.   This hidden location was home to many Shadowkind who did not wish to deal with the prejudice that their appearance might force upon them out in the world, particularly in Russia.  Wynn had apparently established a location here for Knights that broke the rules of the Knighthood so extremely to reflect upon their crimes, or for those whose powers made it impossible for them to live out in civilized society.

This monastery of misfits is run by a man named Mikhail Kalachnik, a willing exile who volunteered for the position, a man vouched for as trustworthy by both Jack Chessing and Finnick Odair.  It is here that the former Knights will set up a base of operations from which they intend to rescue Rafael Giovanni, research a way to stop Keijen Blade, and take him down once and for all, along with the evil Mind Master.  

But first, they must get to know the exiled Knights with whom they will be sharing this hideout...

Yeah, we kinda came in hot and without much in the way of introductions. I'm Faith. [She goes to offer her hand out, but then pauses.]

You don't have anything weird about touching -- right?

[uncease]

[He shakes his head, a small smile curving the corner of his mouth.]

No, but that's a fair question. [He reaches out and offers his hand to shake.] I'm guessing you've run into some of our more... skittish residents.

[msattentionspan]

[She shakes his hand and nods.] It's cool. I mean, I get the whole keeping distance thing, even without having a reason for it. Sometimes you just need your space.

[uncease]

Most of the people here need it whether they want it or not. [Hence the middle of nowhere location.]

You settling in alright?

[msattentionspan]

[She shrugs, because she really didn't expect to have to "settle in" here. She thought it'd be a quick pit-stop where they regroup and then head out to kick ass. Settling down... it's what she's been actively avoiding recently.]

I've stayed in some pretty bad dive motels. This place is fine. A little dry, but I guess alcohol isn't the best thing to keep around.

[uncease]

Someone might have a stash they could share with you. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them. [He's not much for drinking these days.]

[msattentionspan]

It's cool. I probably shouldn't be drinking anyway. [HAHAHAHAHA.]

Is there anything around here, though? Other than livestock?

[uncease]

Some of us spar in our spare time?

[msattentionspan]

[She nods. It's an assumed thing, since there's a gym in the monastery.]

How far is the closest town?

[uncease]

Far enough. They don't exactly tell us much about the area. [it's exile, after all]

[msattentionspan]

[Faith nods, still glancing around and looking at the horizon line. Exile or not, there has to be something somewhere.]

So can I ask what you did to end up here or is that a private thing?

[uncease]

[He's spent a long time coming to terms with what he did. Part of that means being honest about it, owning it, and not hiding from it.]

A woman was cursed to believe she loved me. I chose to accept her advances, even though she had no control over what she was doing. But what I did was inexcusable. Wynn sent me here to make sure she couldn't find me, to make sure I didn't have the opportunity to make the same terrible decision again.

[msattentionspan]

[There's an internal 'oh damn' that comes from that revelation.]

With all the magic and shit that people have sorted out -- no one can just remove that curse?

[uncease]

She herself is a powerful magic user. The curse was old, something built into her heritage. I'm not sure if there is a magic strong enough to break it.

[msattentionspan]

[She nods, wringing her hands as she tries to think about other ways to offer suggestions of things they probably have already tried.]

What about changing it? I mean, if you can't break it -- maybe you can bend it.

[She pauses.] Sorry, you've probably already thought of all this shit.

[uncease]

If it were an option, I'm sure they would have tried it. I've been here for the better part of four years. I have to believe that those back at the castle who know about the situation are doing everything they can to remedy it. That woman deserves to have her life back.

[msattentionspan]

[She nods, feeling kind of weird for trying to be some one-suggestion-away type person that can fix his four year old drama.]

Right, yeah. [a beat] You probably deserve your life back, too.

[uncease]

[He gives a little shrug.]

I've learned a lot in my time here. But I would like to go back at some point. I miss my daughter.

[msattentionspan]

[Man, kids always get screwed when parents make dumb mistakes.]

You've got a little girl and she hasn't seen you in four years? That's rough.

[uncease]

Not so little. She's an adult- a knight, actually. Her name is Emma Swan. It's...complicated. I don't really understand it, honestly. I don't have memories of her from the other side of the Veil.

[msattentionspan]

Sounds complicated. [She presses her hand to her back pocket. It's where her phone usually is.] They made us hand in our phones, so I can't just let you call her, but if I make it out of this in one piece, I can let her know that you miss her. [She'll try to remember to do this.]

[uncease]

Thanks. [His mouth twitches in a small, sad smile.] I really appreciate that. I wouldn't blame you if it slipped your mind, though. It sounds like you guys have your hands full.

[msattentionspan]

Yeah, but we're used to that. It's kinda normal feeling, so having something different to do -- that's something, at least.

[uncease]

This place can be a good spot to step back from everything, so maybe that can be a nice change of pace for you guys, too.
