Sidelined from the mission that has been many of their lives for years, the group who had once stood against Keijen Blade has made a dangerous gambit - they've decided to leave the Knighthood, knowing they may never be allowed to return. With them, have gone Sam and Dean Winchester, and Faith Lehane. Their destination? A distant monastery overlooking the village of Krozna, in the Ural Mountains. This hidden location was home to many Shadowkind who did not wish to deal with the prejudice that their appearance might force upon them out in the world, particularly in Russia. Wynn had apparently established a location here for Knights that broke the rules of the Knighthood so extremely to reflect upon their crimes, or for those whose powers made it impossible for them to live out in civilized society.

This monastery of misfits is run by a man named Mikhail Kalachnik, a willing exile who volunteered for the position, a man vouched for as trustworthy by both Jack Chessing and Finnick Odair. It is here that the former Knights will set up a base of operations from which they intend to rescue Rafael Giovanni, research a way to stop Keijen Blade, and take him down once and for all, along with the evil Mind Master.

But first, they must get to know the exiled Knights with whom they will be sharing this hideout...

It's irrelevant because I know things now that I did not know then. You can't compare it with all those variables at play.

This isn't an experiment, Phillip. I'm curious what you've learned in your time here. If you believe the decision you made was worth all of this.

[ he literally just mumbles something to himself under his breath and picks up a book ]

[He rolls his eyes while Phillip is making a point not to look at him.]

[Trying to channel his inner Mik and find some remaining patience. But he'll bounce and close the door behind him. Time to go find Gar and make sure she's okay..]

[ well there's AUDIBLE CRYING from inside her room so there's that. the door is slightly cracked. ]

[He doesn't barge right in this time. Instead he knocks softly and nudges the door to open just a little more.]

Jeanne? It's David. I wanted to make sure you were alright. [Which she clearly isn't...]

[ she does a pretty swell job of rubbing a forearm across her face and putting herself together enough to say: ] David? D... do come in.

[He slips inside and shuts the door behind him.]

I'm really sorry about that. I should have warned him once you guys arrived.

He's not the only one who could have done with a warning.

[He missed like 90% of the conversation, so watch his super confused face.]

You didn't know he was here?

I didn't even know he was a Knight. He... he vanished, and I thought it was for personal reasons.

I'm sorry. [Even though he literally had no control over what she knew, he feels bad. Because that sounds like a complicated blow.] I talked to him. He's... Well, there's no other way to describe it. He's obsessed with you, Jeanne. And unless you feel a romantic connection for him as strongly as he does for you? I would steer clear, if I were you.

I never... I never meant to hurt him. He meant so much to me, you must understand. He was brilliant - the only person who understood me half the time, when it came to our work. But I didn't...

I didn't look at him like that way.

I had a feeling. [Also he doesn't blame you. That guy is crazy.]

I tried to get him to see that possibility, but I don't know how well it stuck.

That's my fault too. [ she tenses slightly, looking at the wall ] When he told me how he felt, I wasn't firm enough with him. I thought perhaps I owed him a chance - I didn't know how I felt. I'd never even considered it.

I think he took that all wrong.

Jeanne, none of this is your fault. What he feels isn't love. And if it is, it isn't towards you, but instead the idea of you.

I... I know. I know that. But I can't... I can't believe what he's done. I just keep thinking that if he had still trusted me then, that he might have confided it in me. That I could have stopped him.

He's brilliant, David. There's so much he could do for this world, and I promise you that it's not all bad.

I'm sure there is a lot of good he could do. But until he sees that what he did was wrong, I don't know if he'll be the best judge of it. And it's probably safer for him to remain here until then.

He might listen to me about it.

He might. [He nods, agreeing with that possibility.] But if he doesn't, I need to know that you won't blame yourself. And there's no way to know if he could return. It sounds like things are... complicated back at the castle these days. I don't know how anyone would feel about introducing someone like Phillip back into the fold after all this time.

I wish Wynn were here.

I don't. [His tone conveys a sort of fondness, despite the words seeming to the contrary.] If Wynn could solve all of our problems so easily, a place like this wouldn't need to exist. He is a wonderful man, a fantastic leader, but he doesn't have all the answers. What he does have is the forethought to give us this space for self reflection, a chance to learn and grow.

I know you weren't sent here like the rest of us, Jeanne. But maybe you've all come here with a similar need.

[ she looks up at his first pronouncement, a bit stunned by it, her eyes widening at his words, which seem to resonate in some way at least ]

I think that might be exactly what we need, actually. Thank you... for being open to helping us. When we're... all but intruding on your lives.

I can't speak for the others, but I can tell you that I'm happy to help. [He offers her a small smile.]
