Sidelined from the mission that has been many of their lives for years, the group who had once stood against Keijen Blade has made a dangerous gambit - they've decided to leave the Knighthood, knowing they may never be allowed to return.  With them, have gone Sam and Dean Winchester, and Faith Lehane.  Their destination?  A distant monastery overlooking the village of Krozna, in the Ural Mountains.   This hidden location was home to many Shadowkind who did not wish to deal with the prejudice that their appearance might force upon them out in the world, particularly in Russia.  Wynn had apparently established a location here for Knights that broke the rules of the Knighthood so extremely to reflect upon their crimes, or for those whose powers made it impossible for them to live out in civilized society.

This monastery of misfits is run by a man named Mikhail Kalachnik, a willing exile who volunteered for the position, a man vouched for as trustworthy by both Jack Chessing and Finnick Odair.  It is here that the former Knights will set up a base of operations from which they intend to rescue Rafael Giovanni, research a way to stop Keijen Blade, and take him down once and for all, along with the evil Mind Master.  

But first, they must get to know the exiled Knights with whom they will be sharing this hideout...

[ Pulling back from whatever place she goes to in her mind, Rose slows her movements, shedding the mask of Guardian focus before finally casting her gaze in David's direction. ]

Cause there's so much else to do? [ A wry edge to her words that suggests it's more commentary than a complaint.

It's now that she sees him with a sword in hand, however, that she realizes this isn't the first time they've met. The memory of a much younger version of herself trying desperately not to feel like such an outsider in her new home and the man who had taken the time to talk to her. (Wis Nat 20. Cause that's not unnecessary overkill or anything!).

With a flicker of recognition in her eyes, Rose seems to relax just a little, her stake idly twirling in her hand as she straightens. ]

Yeah... as much as we can I guess. [ It was the first chance they'd had to stop in days. Rose suspected they weren't settling so much as collapsing. ] I think we're all a bit restless with everything that's happening.

[His memory is a bit foggy (wis 8 lmao), but he's still a pretty friendly guy by nature.]

Understandable. I'm still a little uncertain on most of the details, but it sounds like you guys have your work cut out for you.

Yeah. [Letting out a bitter huff.] Especially when we're fighting a war on three fronts.

[Keijen, Hell and then Hasmed & Solaces version of the Knights.]

Can almost see the appeal of a place like this. [Bullshit. She'd be bored in 5 minutes and it would feel too much like a prison but it sounded almost nice in theory.]

[uncease]

It isn't all bad. The quiet can be nice. [He steps closer to the edge of the roof, looking out at the landscape.]

But I have a feeling you'll be leaving sooner rather than later.

You don't miss it? Going out on missions? [Rose never could comprehend the appeal of quiet contemplation.]

I hope so. [A beat.] No offense, I just... don't like doing nothing.

[uncease]

I only really went out on the one, so... [It's hard to miss it when you barely did it. He shrugs and doesn't look at all offended.]

Want a sparring partner? It's better than doing nothing.

[littledhampir]

[Grimacing a little.] I'm guessing that didn't go so well.

Uh - [She's rather aware of the fact that in hand to hand combat, she's a little on the scary side (understatement) so with that in mind, Rose goes so far as to slide her stake back into its leather scabbard.]

Sure. [She's a little less scary without pointy objects in her hand?!] I don't often get to spar with people back at the Castle.

[That's because people don't have a death wish, Rose...]

You have a sword or should we just box? [He's fine with either, but the clang of swords is just really satisfying.]

I packed light? [ Though now I kinda wish she had a sword around cause that would have been cool okay.]

But I don't mind if you want to use yours. Could use some practice in avoiding the pointy end.

Are you sure? [Look, he still remembers when he knocked someone unconscious in the training room in the castle...]

Positive. Worst comes to worse? It wouldn't be the first stab wound Myri has fixed or me, and I heal fast anyway.

[Between her fast healing and her armor class? This might help even the playing field a little.]
