Sidelined from the mission that has been many of their lives for years, the group who had once stood against Keijen Blade has made a dangerous gambit - they've decided to leave the Knighthood, knowing they may never be allowed to return.  With them, have gone Sam and Dean Winchester, and Faith Lehane.  Their destination?  A distant monastery overlooking the village of Krozna, in the Ural Mountains.   This hidden location was home to many Shadowkind who did not wish to deal with the prejudice that their appearance might force upon them out in the world, particularly in Russia.  Wynn had apparently established a location here for Knights that broke the rules of the Knighthood so extremely to reflect upon their crimes, or for those whose powers made it impossible for them to live out in civilized society.

This monastery of misfits is run by a man named Mikhail Kalachnik, a willing exile who volunteered for the position, a man vouched for as trustworthy by both Jack Chessing and Finnick Odair.  It is here that the former Knights will set up a base of operations from which they intend to rescue Rafael Giovanni, research a way to stop Keijen Blade, and take him down once and for all, along with the evil Mind Master.  

But first, they must get to know the exiled Knights with whom they will be sharing this hideout...

Oh, the veil. I'm not from here. [ but her family... is. it's giving her a headache, trying to sort out her own family. why else would zeus..? she huffs a sigh, melodramatically dropping her forearm over her eyes. ]

And how does that work, exactly? Last I heard, they don't have Greece in Faerun.

I'm not from Faerûn. [ wait. WHEN DID THIS WEIRD VEILNESS START TO HAPPEN? he's been here the whole time... maybe he just doesn't know. her arm slides to her forehead so she can peer at him. ]

People started coming through the veil from other worlds, not just Faerûn. Six years ago? Maybe Sehanine knew something like this was coming, decided to open doors to other worlds, get all the help she can get.

Other worlds? What does that mean, exactly?

I mean it used to be a direct line from there to here, but now it's many lines to here. Like, where I'm from mostly everything is pretty much the same except there's little to no magic or other species but there's loads of demigods and, you know, we're called demigods.

Gar could tell you more, she actually knows things. Has a functioning brain.

You know for a second I was gonna answer that literally and I think that says a lot. Smarts is just not my forte. [ she stifles a yawn behind her hand. ] I'm not trying to be dishonest now that we have actually had sex, but none of this makes sense to me. Any explanation I can come up with is gonna be shitty.

I guess it is not that much stranger than what already was happening. But it does seem strange that it should change.

I agree. And I think it probably contributed to all... this. [ the wave of her hand seems to indicated everything. ] Fuck if I know how.

Not every problem is meant to be solved. It seems you all have some more pressing ones at hand.

What if the answer to Hell and the Mind Master and Blade is tucked inside something else we haven't figured out yet? [ a puff of a sigh. ] I don't even know what I don't know.

So what have you already tried?

Just found about about Hell three days ago, so nothing on that front. Two days ago? I don't even know what day today actually is.

I would think that part would be less surprising to someone whose mother is from the Underworld.

She's from Olympus, she lives in the Underworld. And ss I've been told repeatedly over the years, Hell and Hades are two totally different things. The Underworld is the only afterlife for us -- the good and the bad and the generally mediocre. It's got Tartarus and Elysium and the Asphodel Meadows. Plus, Hades is neutral, he is a distinct part of the cycle of life and death, but he isn't evil, he just... is.

Hell is like straight up evil apparently.

Yeah. [ she doesn't sound happy about it. ] I should get back.

[ she pushes herself to sitting, attempts to smooth her hair back as she glances over at him. ] Thanks.

Thanks. [ he repeats, amused ] I suppose I could say the same thing.

Just did. [ leaning over, vi looms over him to catch his mouth in one last, lingering kiss. ] Anytime.

[ his hand comes up to loop around her neck to hold her there for an extra moment before the kiss breaks ] Good to know.

[ with a smile, vi rolls off the bed and starts collecting her clothes, pulling them on one by one. ]

Not an empty offer. Any time you wanna let go...

That goes for you too. [ he looks like he's not about to get dressed anytime soon, so he'll just hang out and watch as she does ]

I'll make a note of where your room is. [ since she was not paying attention on the way. yanking her last layer on, she flips her hair free and faces him with her hands on her hips. ]

Just, like as a note, spectacular work. You should be very proud.
