Sidelined from the mission that has been many of their lives for years, the group who had once stood against Keijen Blade has made a dangerous gambit - they've decided to leave the Knighthood, knowing they may never be allowed to return.  With them, have gone Sam and Dean Winchester, and Faith Lehane.  Their destination?  A distant monastery overlooking the village of Krozna, in the Ural Mountains.   This hidden location was home to many Shadowkind who did not wish to deal with the prejudice that their appearance might force upon them out in the world, particularly in Russia.  Wynn had apparently established a location here for Knights that broke the rules of the Knighthood so extremely to reflect upon their crimes, or for those whose powers made it impossible for them to live out in civilized society.

This monastery of misfits is run by a man named Mikhail Kalachnik, a willing exile who volunteered for the position, a man vouched for as trustworthy by both Jack Chessing and Finnick Odair.  It is here that the former Knights will set up a base of operations from which they intend to rescue Rafael Giovanni, research a way to stop Keijen Blade, and take him down once and for all, along with the evil Mind Master.  

But first, they must get to know the exiled Knights with whom they will be sharing this hideout...

I think they believe it might be traumatic for her to know something was taken from her. I wish I understood it better myself.

No, she didn't. What vision quest?

[ Her eyebrows raise, figuring he can now see the flaw in that plan. ]

If I noticed something was wrong, others will too. Including Myri.

[Rose is pretty sure she's about to butcher this retelling but here goes. (Wis 4)]

When she was out of it, she said those Stargods of hers sent her this, vision. It's why she wasn't going to come with us here because the vision told her to go east. There was a thing about a blood priest and Elena being in the dream as well but... Wynn was there too.

[Of course Rose clearly remembers the part that pertained to Wynn. (Wis 20 total).]

She said she was at the concert, the one where Keijen transformed and that Wynn put his hand on her shoulder as they looked out on the crowd and said They wait. Then he... transformed into a Dragon and flew away. After he was gone, a voice told her to go east, find him, he waits.

[She pauses to try and read Jack's expression then, wanting to see if there is some basis in her line of thinking, and not just wishful thinking.]

Myri doesn't believe it has anything to do with Wynn because the Stargods only ever send her towards something that ends up being good for her. If she doesn't remember that Wynn is important to her, though... [Shaking her head.] I honestly thought that he'd be here waiting for us.

[chessing]

[ he mulls that over slowly ] If it was Wynn telling her someone waits in the dream, then it is likely that it did not mean him - but perhaps that he or the Knights will help her find... whoever this is.

[ he shakes his head ] But with visions, it is all interpretation.

[littledhampir]

[ Rose nods slowly, her expression tight as she tries to hide her disappointment. ]

So it's... probably more likely he was only there because he's been a part of Myri's life up until now. It fits... with the rest of the dream from what she said.

[ Because Myri did say it was all fragments of her life until now. (Wis 20 Total.)]

Yeah, I... only ever experience these things second or third hand. [A beat.] Gods don't like me.

There are some who might consider that a blessing, given the burden placed on those whom the gods tend to grant responsibilities.

[littledhampir]

That wasn't a complaint. [ A wry edge to her words. I mean really? She lands herself in enough Divine rubbish without the push of Gods. ]

From what I've seen, Gods tend to hurt more than they 'help'. [A beat.] When they bother to do anything at all.

[chessing]

Theologians believe that the Shadow gods, at least, are somehow prevented from acting in our world in the same way that they act in Faerun. They believe it has something to do with the Veil. It seems they are much more directly involved in that world - even physically manifesting there relatively often.

It's one reason that what Blade has accomplished in circumventing the Veil is a threat we are wholly unprepared for.

[littledhampir]

It's the same with Heaven and Hell... in theory, but that's more about rules from how I understand it. Doesn't stop both sides from meddling, though.

[An edge of bitterness to her tone that wasn't wholly reserved for Hell.]

Everything has a weakness. Fiends. Devils and Angels. Even ego driven psychopaths like Blade. I think Dean's onto something with the dagger being the key to figuring out what that is.

[chessing]

Agreed, which is why we need to pool our resources towards discovering what the weakness is, and protecting the fact that we're aware of it once we know, until it's time to strike.

[littledhampir]

Shame Dumage isn't around. [Words Rose never thought she'd say, honestly.] She spent more time around him than anyone. She might know something and not even realize it.

[dragonsclaw]

If she does, I should hope she might have passed that knowledge along by this point.

[littledhampir]

[Rose's look says more than her words could. She trusts Dumage about as far as she can kick her. LBR she could kick her further.]

She might be able to tell us something about that knife? Not like we thought it could be important till he used it.

[dragonsclaw]

I suppose it's worth trying to contact her about.

[littledhampir]

It's gotta be better than the whole lot of nothing we have to go on now.

[Rose would settle for a solid description of it, honestly, It's not like she was thinking about what was up with the knife when it was sudden death by lava for thousands.]

And Myri? We're just supposed to keep pretending like we don't know something is wrong and hide it from her? [She's hardly in a position to judge the keeping of secrets but in a way, that's why she's sick of it.]

[dragonsclaw]

We don't know what kind of effect it may have on her to make her realize she's lost something. I imagine there was some delicacy to the process. She may need time for her mind to heal before we go throwing curveballs at her. But I don't know that I'm the best one to make that decision.

[littledhampir]

[Rose nods slowly, accepting at least that it's not her call to make, no matter how she might feel. One thing is, however.]

Alright... but, just in case anything like that ever happens to me? I want it known, screw delicacy.

[chessing]

While I certainly hope it never comes to anything like this again, I will certainly honor your wishes.

[littledhampir]

[She'd like to say the comforting thing, like how she's sure it never will but given A. History and B. Who they're up against. She'd rather not be made a liar.]

I figure there's enough secrets without adding to the pile...

[chessing]

We certainly seem to have a problem with them. I can't say I'm happy about adding another.

[littledhampir]

But sometimes they're necessary. [/looks at every secret she's kept for years. Yep.] Only I don't need protecting.

[chessing]

I honestly wish we knew more about what sort of impact it might have on her. Most of this is guesswork at this point.

[littledhampir]

[She considered that for a moment and thought about everything she knew of Myri. Everything she'd seen from her over the years they'd been friends and she lifted her gaze to meet Jack's, a certainty in her eyes.]

Myri is a lot stronger than anyone gives her credit for.

I don't doubt that for a moment. But I'm not certain that strength is the only thing that matters in such a case.
