Sidelined from the mission that has been many of their lives for years, the group who had once stood against Keijen Blade has made a dangerous gambit - they've decided to leave the Knighthood, knowing they may never be allowed to return.  With them, have gone Sam and Dean Winchester, and Faith Lehane.  Their destination?  A distant monastery overlooking the village of Krozna, in the Ural Mountains.   This hidden location was home to many Shadowkind who did not wish to deal with the prejudice that their appearance might force upon them out in the world, particularly in Russia.  Wynn had apparently established a location here for Knights that broke the rules of the Knighthood so extremely to reflect upon their crimes, or for those whose powers made it impossible for them to live out in civilized society.

This monastery of misfits is run by a man named Mikhail Kalachnik, a willing exile who volunteered for the position, a man vouched for as trustworthy by both Jack Chessing and Finnick Odair.  It is here that the former Knights will set up a base of operations from which they intend to rescue Rafael Giovanni, research a way to stop Keijen Blade, and take him down once and for all, along with the evil Mind Master.  

But first, they must get to know the exiled Knights with whom they will be sharing this hideout...

[ she almost thanks him for letting her thank him but that would just be absurd.

so she changes the subject on a frickin' dime. ]

Dom says Sveta, well he said you said she drifted, between human and animal. Some sort of nature magic.

[ there is no question, but the curiosity is apparent. ]

Yes. Her magic is quite powerful - I believe she derives it from the Earth itself, in a way. It is neither arcane nor divine - or maybe more correctly, it seems to be both. But using that sort of magic causes the caster to become closer to nature themselves, occasionally even losing themselves.

[ violet is fascinated. ]

Her -- [ vi wriggles her fingers, as if indicating her claws. ]

[ he nods ] She's developed traits of various animals, maybe even some plants. It seems to have an effect on her psychology as well.

Like she's more wild? [ vi feels like she should elaborate on her curiosity so she adds, ] My magic is from nature, well, Spring specifically. And, [ she gestures at lucia's calculative wood stacking. ] I have no idea what she's going to be able to do.

Hers has something to do with ley lines, I believe. It isn't just about ... wildness. She has the instincts of these aspects that she's taken on, mixed with her own as a human. The combination is unpredictable.

[ a slow nod. that makes sense she supposes, who knows which instinct would kick in in that case. it could be dangerous. sveta seems so sweet though.

but what the fuck does she know? she cheerfully accepted that zarad was an aasimar like her and he turned out to be a demon? devil? whatever, she doesn't even care, it just added a check to the "sucks at trusting the right people" column of her life skills. ]

Yeah. [ it's a weak acknowledgement that she was listening and understood, but she's gone and rolled herself into an unhappy train of though and it turns off most of her curiosity. ]

Unpredictability could be an asset, but I guess it might not outweigh the possible liability.

Not when she actually attacked someone, no.

Well, turns out we were friends with someone who, like, legit sold their soul to Hell, so my idea of what is bad anymore is kinda skewed.

Wynn is concerned about the safety of his Knights, including from one another, and in terms of a risk they might pose to themselves. But he also believes in rehabilitation and in helping all those who can be helped. There's a chance Sveta might learn to control herself, in time.

[graveflowers]

Well, if you need a hand... [ she shrugs. ] We honestly have no idea what we're doing anymore so we might be here for a while.

We can use every hand here. That is very much in the spirit of this place.

[graveflowers]

We'll do what we can.

[ obviously lucia will be the primary wood stacker because this is now very much her jam, but she also loves to sweep. ]

Those in the village are also very willing to take assistance.

Come on, Lu, do you want to go meet some new people? [ the toddler drops the wood like FUCK THIS NOISE and bounds back over to her mom with a loud "YES!" ] Say thank you to Mikhail for letting you help.
