The acting Heads of the Knighthood - Hasmed and Solace - have made a decision that is not easy for many.  Given the terrible state of everything happening in America, they've decided to relocate operations entirely to the States, and have secured a facility near Las Vegas.  It is certainly possible, with the grim missions that lie before them, that many, or all, of the Knights may never return.  Reactions to the announcement are certain to be strong, but it's time to choose what they will bring with them to their new life - and for some, to decide if it's a journey they can bring themselves to take.

I seem to be asking myself that too often lately.

[First his girlfriend, now his ship? Things aren't exactly going his way lately.]

I've saved up a bit of money for myself while working with the Knights. They let me pay for a year in advance for this spot on the dock. If things aren't settled by then, I suppose this is a longer goodbye than I want it to be.

[He wipes off his hands with a nearby rag.]

It's funny. Part of me hopes she's stolen between now and then. It'd be fitting, seeing as I stole her, myself.

If she's still here when we get back, I'm totally stealing her.

You know, it isn't wise to tell someone when you plan to steal from them. [He gives her a wink]

But I think you'd make a fine captain, lass.

I'm mostly in it for the hat.

Well, if that's what you're after... [He holds up a hand, indicating for her to wait. He turns and heads for his quarters, returning a few moments later with a very extravagant black hat with gold trim and a large white feather.]

Belonged to the first captain I ever worked for. I tried to wear it once, but couldn't really pull it off. But you? I think it might suit you just fine.

[ that? is the look of pure delight in her eyes. she reaches for it but stops herself from taking it yet, stroking the feather delicately instead ] Are you serious?

[bluffcheck]

[He nods, still smiling.]

I wouldn't joke about something as serious as a captain's hat, lass. [He gestures towards the hat, still holding it out to her.]

Go on.

[moonheart]

[ she takes it and then very reverently sets it on her head, before striking a pose ] Well?
