The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope none of you are shy. They're all here to meet you.

[The displacer beast immediately catches Riddick's eye, causing all of his animalistic instincts to rise up. He casually drops a hand to his side as they approach, waiting to see what the animal would do, his eyes taking in the legs, the spines, the way it moves and everything else he can note about it. He is immediately in love.

His eyes don't move from it as Sven talks, but he answers him in his rumbly voice, actual amusement tingeing the tones.]

More than I thought I would, considering. That's a beautiful animal you have there. [And where can he get one, and can he pet it, and he wants it and now he wants to know everything about it and and and! This is basically Riddick's equivalent to a squeeing school-girl.]

[The beast stares back at Riddick and moves closer. It doesn't look like it wants love and cuddles, but it doesn't look like it's out for his blood, either. It ... might not even bite him if he tries to pet it. ]

I found her in England. [You know, when there was a huge epic battle in some night club.] Everyone seems to hate her, [NO IDEA WHY, couldn't possibly be related to her attacking them or something.] but she gets along all right with me.

[He doesn't attempt to pet her, instead keeping eye-contact until she breaks it, relaxing his palm open so she can catch his scent as she gets closer.

He glances briefly at Sven as he speaks, a low grumble coming up from his chest.]

Yeah, most people are idiots too. They wouldn't know a magnificent creature if it bit them in the ass. [His eyes are drawn back to the creature again, respect and awe in his hidden gaze.]

England, huh? You name her?

[HE SAID CHICAGO. OH MY GOD THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR DOING TAGS AT 6 AM. /sobs into hands.]

[But yeah anyway he nods in agreement.] Her name is Glowbug.

[Riddick snorts at the name, pausing for a beat to gaze at her lovingly before cocking his head to the side, deciding that it fit.]

Whereabouts in Chicago? You know if they're looking to get another one off their hands? [Just tell him what he wants to know and he'll be out that door faster than you can say Glowbug. He is so jealous rn.]
