The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope none of you are shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

[Oh sup guyz, Wynn is here as usual, looking like a moment frozen out of time. It's what he does.]

[Finnick is here, mingling and such just like he was at his own squiring, but something is different.

Namely, he hasn't seen Katniss or Haymitch around the castle in like forever and it's driving him crazy. Even if they didn't remember him, they were ... from home and as close to normalcy as he was going to get. What if something happened to them? What if the Capitol somehow found them and kidnapped them and now they're off being tortured???? The possibilities are endless.

But he's going to approach Wynn and act like that is not on his mind at all. X( ]

Tonight seems subdued.

I wouldn't quite go so far. Perhaps it seems that way, with so many Knights on missions at this time. [The thought of which seems to make him rather thoughtful.]

You've been here a month and are yet to be assigned, but I imagine we'll find someplace for you soon.

[Thoster may be on his fourth drink already.

Not that anyone would be able to tell because his behavior is exactly the same as at the start of the night- loud, laughing, and lewd.]

I have to hand it to the lot of you- You know how to make a man feel welcome.

[Completely lacking in any semblance of formal wear whatsoever, the wild haired human plucking food off the table and piling it high into a mega-sandwich definitely stands out. He lifts his head up at Thoster's comment and snorts.]

Don't see the point in sending you all running off screaming on day one.

Leave that for the second day, hmm?

[Andie was several yards away--though within hearing distance, when he said that, but seconds later she's right next to him and smiling.] We're a way welcoming bunch. It's just what we do.

[Blink blink.]

Well, aren't you quick as a whip? [He laughs and lifts his drink to her.] You won't hear me complaining so long as the drinks stay free.

[Morgan's standing off to the side somewhere, trying to not stand out... which isn't too hard with how much Thoster does. He's pretty thankful for that.

He's leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, dressed in the clothes he arrived in rather than the fancy get-ups everyone else was wearing. It's just a pair of black pants, a black button-up shirt and a thigh length black jacket. Are you sensing a theme here?]

[ The hulking figure that approaches is easily seven feet tall, with hands that looks like claws, ridged spines forming his brow, and golden tendrils hanging down from his cheeks almost like mustachios. A fine dark golden mane winds around his face like a beard, some of which is carefully braided. He wears a dark red robed lined in white fur, and there's jewelry evident on his fingers and around his neck, very luxurious contrasted against Morgan's somber outfit. His expression is friendly, however, his eyes smiling, as he slows to a stop before him. ]

I think congratulations are in order.

[Morgan's eyes were focused on the floor so you'll have to pardon his wide eyes as his gave moves from the... man's?... feet to his eyes. This is certainly something new.

Morgan reacts quickly enough and offers a polite smile back although it's still clear he's a little shocked.]

Thank you. I believe introductions are as well.

[Despite this guy having claws for hands Morgan holds his out to shake.]

[He might be trying not to stand out, but Andie is plenty determined to go around making friends, so... good luck with all that. She rushes over to him, trying for slow but she's so excited that it still ends up looking like she's sprinting. Which is slow for her.]

Hi! You're new, right? I'm Andie. Sir Andie. [She giggles.] Though I guess that's not really unusual around here, right? What's your name?

[At some point in the evening, Thoster slides up beside Morgan and claps a hand firmly to his back.]

[Andie is here! She's wearing something like this dress only it has wide shoulder straps with the same pattern as the skirt, which only goes to just below her knees. And she's even more excited and spastic than usual! She's gotten her freaking recommendation and it's awesome. Plus! New squires! Cool.]

[ In a very conservative dark blue number, Risa looks much the opposite of Andie, so when she almost bumps into the girl, it gives her a moment of pause ]

[The frumpily dressed Knight has managed to work his way into a corner table of the room, his giant sandwich sitting in front of him as he fiddles around on what looks like a tablet computer, ignoring all of your lives.]

[Val'drin's here, and the dark elf alternates between bouts of schmoozing and scanning the crowd as if he's looking for someone.]

[It's later in the evening before Thoster bumps into Val'drin. He's a little more inebriated.]

A drow at a party! Now I've seen everything!

[Fred's swanked up in a suit, and standing with his arms folded watching the dance floor, as Tia nurses a wine glass beside him.]

You know, we could have brought Prince Charming back here for the party.

[telekinection]

[Tia snorts] And would you have given him the first dance?

[In a flirty little purple number, Nessa slides through the crowd, drink in hand, a playful smile on her face as if she's remembering some kind of entertaining joke that someone just told her.]

[At some point in the evening, Thoster steps up behind the woman, taking the drink from her hand in a smooth motion and placing it on the tray of a waiter walking by. Once that's done, he replaces the drink with his hand, weaving his fingers between hers. His free hand starts at the small of her back and traces around to her waist as he also circles around in front of her. His natural 20 on his Dex check is the only reason that he can pull off being that smooth. And the liquor in his system may be playing up his boldness.]

Pretty woman like you needs to be shown off. Dance with me. [He says in a low voice. It's a statement, not a question and the corners of his mouth are turned up in the slightest, coaxing smile.]

[Riddick is sitting at a table a few rows off the dance floor, his feet up on the seat next to him with his hands clasped behind his head as his gaze moves around the room behind his goggles.

He sure isn't dressed like he is at a fancy event, rather wearing yet again his customary blank tank, black pants and black combat boots. The only spot of color is a white bandage wound around his right bicep. Shockingly, rather than look grumpy and stand-offish he looks rather approachable with the casual way he is sitting, sipping water out of his goblet.]

[It's the bandage that draws Risa's eye, because believe it or not, they're a pretty uncommon sight around here... for a good reason. :| She pauses in walking by, nodding at his arm.]

I'm sorry. Did you get that treated?

[Sven is hanging around, dressed in jeans, a t-shirt, and a suit jacket over it like he's even pretending to be formal. And he has his new bff Glowbug the displacer beast in tow. Yep, he goes everywhere with her now. Everyone else just has to deal with his life.

Once they get near Riddick, Glowbug seems to take an interest in him and wander in his direction. Sven follows suit. You know, to make sure she doesn't eat him. That would suck. While he's here, he will also try to have a conversation.]
