The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope none of you are shy. They're all here to meet you.

[Oh you poor big lug]

The Dragon's Light can heal most of the injuries from the field instantaneously.

[Lol he really needs to think of these things, but being on his own for forever really keeps him self-sustaining. He sure isn't against instantaneous healing though.]

Wanna take a crack at it? [He nods his head towards his bicep, bringing his hand down from behind his head.]

[She nods] Can you take that bandaging off?

[He reaches up and starts unwrapping his arm skillfully, wadding the gauze up once he finishes and tossing it on the table. The wound in his arm is jagged, though clean with no sign of infection. It had weeped a bit while in the bandage and a trickle of blood runs down his arm slowly while he waits for her to do her thing.]

That doesn't seem too bad. But I imagine it will feel better either way to have it gone. [And she simply reaches out a hand, laying it across the wound. A small flash of white light between her palm and his skin glows, then dims again, and when she lifts her hand, all sign of blood - or injury - is gone.]

[He watches her, fascinated by the whole process, noting the subtle differences between what Myri had done and Risa's technique. When she finishes he flexes his arm, checking it over for a scar or any other mark. Finding none he looks back to her, his mouth quirking up a bit at the corner.]

Thanks. That's gotta be pretty handy around here.

It definitely keeps me in high demand.

How many of you here can do that?

[A small smile] Not as many as we could use, unfortunately. Just the clerics, and we're a small group.

So how does that work, exactly? I've never heard of Clerics before.

My power to heal is granted to me by the god I worship: Pelor. It allows me to do his work here on the mortal plane.

[Riddick will just...stare at her for a moment. He couldn't very well refute what she said because what the hell did he even really know about this place? His talk about Andie about her heritage and the "gods" motives/sex lives hadn't really answered many of his questions, but Risa seemed like she was willing to speak about it. And perhaps it was simply that she was just more knowledgeable about his sort of thing.]

So, there really is more than one god. And he gives you specifically the ability to heal people?

Not just me. Any of those who offer their life to his service whole heartedly.

Just like that? You tell him you're willing to work for him and you get the ability to heal people? [He lets out a low whistle, his head shaking a bit.]

What else can a cleric do?

[She laughs a bit, a piece of hair brushing loose behind her ear as she shakes her head. She places it back as she says:] Faith is both the easiest and the hardest thing to come by. It takes more than just saying the words - it requires a dedication of purpose, and a true acceptance of the gods' power and your own role in the world, before you can really let them into your heart.

But it isn't just healing, no. We can compel others to tell the truth - create light in the darkness - destroy the undead - and we're given our own tools to fight, should it come to it.

[He listens intently to the meaning in her words, still not willing to believe that any god was worth serving and praising. He hadn't seen enough evidence with his own eyes to convince him it was a fair trade. Though, the destroying the undead bit did sound pretty bad ass.]

I guess it's pretty admirable what you do then. Can't say as though I'd be able to serve some god and dedicate my life to them. Then again, I guess that's why there're good people like you lot then.

It's not a path everyone would follow, but we can all serve with our own talents, regardless.

So how many of these gods are there, anyway? I tried asking someone about it but she really didn't know too much information on the subject.

Oh, there are a great deal of gods, considering there are multiple pantheons. But it's possible that some of those gods are separate faces of the same gods... There is no accurate 'count' so to speak.

Interesting. So, whatever happened to just God? Or is he not a part of this dimension?

The monotheistic concept of God? Plenty of people, particularly humans, worship such a deity here. It's possible there's one God who rules over the others - some people call such a deity "Ao".

[He was pretty sure all her fancy words were the way she regularly spoke, and he understood he without problem, but it basically boiled down to there still being the One Supreme God after all. So far as anyone knew.]

That's a pretty big mouthful of words sayin' that basically there's still just one big boss ahead of the others. But no one's for sure if he exists?

That's where faith plays into it.

[He snorts, looking out across the dance floor once again.] Faith's not something I put much stock in. It never got me anywhere before in my life.

[ She fixes him with a long look ] It got you here.
