The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope none of you are shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

[Val'drin's surprised by the sudden brush but he darts out one hand to steady the man by the arm, quickly pulling himself up to his not-so-significant height at the comment. He doesn't sound offended, exactly.]

If I were you I might hold that comment off until you see Sir Koraith trying to do the Charleston. [He wags a finger in the air repeatedly, though it slows as he seems to remember the incident, horror creeping into his tone] Some things no amount of fey wine can erase.

[Thoster doesn't know the man, nor does he know what the Charleston is, but he does appreciate the response, as he can infer that it is meant to be light hearted.]

Ah, but we shall drink to forgot or drink to make a memory.

Or to make a memory that you'd rather forget?

Now you're getting the idea! [He flashes another grin.] I've always said that a night fully remembered is a night not worth remembering.

And if the others weren't either, at least you won't be burdened by the memory.

Cheers to that. [He takes a look around the room.] Not that I'd mind remembering a few of the more... delicate creatures attending. [He may, in fact, be appraising a few of the ladies as he speaks.]

Delicate. [ He repeats the word with a strained sense of credulity, following his gaze, and then offering a slight shrug of his head as if weighing the word. ] In my experience, hardly a word to apply to most of our fairer sex'ed compatriots.

Seems we're at two different parties, friend.

Or perhaps I've simply had a chance to get to know most of them.

[bluffcheck]

Well, then be a good friend and introduce me!

I suppose there wouldn't be any harm.

Damn right there wouldn't!

That enthusiasm will get you far, if not a black eye. Shall we? [ He gestures at the crowd with his drink ]

Wouldn't be the first time. [Thoster admits, but the smile doesn't leave his face. He's rather buzzed still, which helps. He'll follow Val'drin happily for now.]

[ And he'll direct him right into the middle of a bevy of women, with a smile that draws one of each of them instantly. ]

Ladies! How wonderful you all look tonight. It's almost as if you knew we were coming...

[Thoster, even while tipsy, does not let his charm falter even for a second.]

He speaks the truth. I've traveled to many... many places, and I've yet to find a group so blindingly beautiful.

[ That earns some amused smirks and glances at each other, and a couple of them even volunteer their names. Val'drin stands next to him with a smug smirk on his face. ] Indeed. He showed me his passport.
