The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope none of you are shy. They're all here to meet you.

Yep! We did slave freeing. It was way cool. [Andie's pretty proud of all of that. She did good.] And I got my recommendation!

Well, congratulations! Do you know where you'll be placed yet?

Dragon's Tongue! [She bounces on her feet a little bit. The more excited she gets, the harder it is for her to really stay still.] I'm totally psyched.

Well, I look forward to working with you. Are you aware of what will happen at your ceremony?

Sort of. [Her father's talked about it, but it was always one of those far off in the future maybe things and she'd never paid that much attention.] Like not in detail or anything.

[layonhands]

You'll renew your squiring vows, of course... but it's a much more intimate affair. Less about the pomp and circumstance, at least.

[asap]

Awww. [Andie looks a bit put-out.] No party?

[layonhands]

[She chuckles] There'll be a small reception. The whole thing has more of a personal touch, you might say.

[asap]

I just hope there's lots of food. Maybe I could have some kind of party afterwards. Like just with friends. [She tilts her head, thinking about it, then her expression brightens.] And pizza!

[layonhands]

That sounds like a lovely idea. I'm sure you wouldn't be the first.

Thanks! Yeah, I think I'll do it. [There would have to be a LOT of pizza.] Uh, do you want to come?

[layonhands]

I'd love to, certainly.
