training ♔ saturday morning

WHO || Fredrick Jr., Lan, entirely open
WHAT || Weapons training
WHERE || Knights HQ, Training Room / Armory / Firing Range / Gym, Dragon's Hide wing, 2nd floor
WHEN || Saturday, April 7th from 10am onwards
HOW || Actionspam

It's that time again.  New squires would have heard the word come 'round that there would be open weapons orientation this Saturday - which is also open to anyone who just wants to come spar with the newbies as well.  As before, at the top of the main staircase is the entrance to an incredibly spacious room, that has gym and weight training equipment on the wall near the door, and then lots of old school training dummies and more at the far end. A glass door enters into a firing range, and another pair of large doors on the farthest wall lead to the armory.

With Dovan and Luthir gone on missions, a surly looking Sir Lanston stands waiting for you all, decked out in his elaborate full plate, though he has no helm on.  He leans on an incredibly dangerous looking sword, as Fred offers a much more friendly greeting to the gathered, motioning them all over.

Haven't had the pleasure. [He's completely ignoring Lan at this point. The old goat is a stick in the mud. He steps closer to Finnick and holds out a hand to shake.]

Thoster Chatwyn.

[Yeah, forget Lan. He's a dbag, okay. Finnick shakes his hand and smiles.]

Finnick Odair. It's a pleasure to meet you, Thoster.

You a seafaring sort, Odair? Never met a man comfortable with a weapon like that who didn't know his way around a ship.

Something like that. I grew up in a seafaring community, meaning I spent most of my childhood on boats. Learning a thing or two is almost inevitable.

[Thoster steps to one side and claps a hand on Finnick's shoulder.]

You've no idea how good it is to hear that. [He lowers his voice a bit] I've got a ship docked nearby. Could use a knowing hand to help me keep her at her best.

[He lowers his voice in turn.] I suppose I could lend you my hand, if you really need it. It's been awhile, so I can't guarantee to be too helpful.

It'd be nice to have company. Plus, you might learn a thing or two. [He grins] Plus, take it from me, the ladies love a sailor.
65: <user name=seethesoldiers site=insanejournal.com> (you dream about going up there)

[personal profile] 65 2012-04-08 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
[He chuckles.] I'm not lacking in love from the ladies, trust me.

Never meant to say you're lacking. But a little extra help never hurts.

Then you'll have my help. [His useless help since he hasn't really done anything boat related beyond making knots and stabbing at shit with tridents in ... years .... ]

Wonderful! Now go on and get your trident. But remember to stay far away from me!

[He slaps Finnick's back once more in a friendly manner and heads off to busy himself with some training elsewhere.]
