training ♔ saturday morning
WHO || Fredrick Jr., Lan, entirely open
WHAT || Weapons training
WHERE || Knights HQ, Training Room / Armory / Firing Range / Gym, Dragon's Hide wing, 2nd floor
WHEN || Saturday, April 7th from 10am onwards
HOW || Actionspam
It's that time again. New squires would have heard the word come 'round that there would be open weapons orientation this Saturday - which is also open to anyone who just wants to come spar with the newbies as well. As before, at the top of the main staircase is the entrance to an incredibly spacious room, that has gym and weight training equipment on the wall near the door, and then lots of old school training dummies and more at the far end. A glass door enters into a firing range, and another pair of large doors on the farthest wall lead to the armory.
With Dovan and Luthir gone on missions, a surly looking Sir Lanston stands waiting for you all, decked out in his elaborate full plate, though he has no helm on. He leans on an incredibly dangerous looking sword, as Fred offers a much more friendly greeting to the gathered, motioning them all over.

Tour;
This room is always open, and considering the Dragon's Hide is the biggest sect in the castle, there's almost always someone up here willing to spar or offer pointers. If you have any serious questions, you can go hunt down Dovan Ironsides, the section leader, in the Hide wing, which is down the back hall to the right when you get up the steps.
Accidents happen, even when we're all looking sharp, which I suggest you do since things can get pretty dicey up here when the pros are going at it, so the Med Center and Cleric wing are straight out across the hallway. Don't worry - despite whatever rumors you might have heard recently, most people don't wind up there on their first day.
Questions?
Armory;
Lan affixes the key card apparatus with a glare, as if it's a snake, and Fred pushes his way around him to slide his card through. The light turns green, and the doors open unto a room full of racks and racks of swords, maces, flails, morningstars, pikes, staffs, bows of all kinds, and more guns lining the walls in intimidating quantities. Lan marches into the center of the room, turning a keen eye onto each of you.]
Who's first, then? Speak up.

Always been fond of them, myself. May I?

You wouldn't happen to have a trident, would you?
no subject
A trident? Going fishing or fighting, boy?
no subject
It's what I'm best with. [Judging by the reaction, Lan is probably not about to make his dreams come true, so ... ] Or a spear, if that's too much trouble.

A trident is a fine weapon! [Look he sails with pirates. People use tridents. He yanks up his shirt to show a scar on his lower abdomen.] Stood in the way of a man who was skilled with one once. Never again.

It takes him a few moments but after testing out the weight and comfort of numerous axes he comes away with two similar tomahawks. Not the typical Native American kind but a more modern, sturdy build.]

Melee;
Keep within the bounds and no hacking off limbs or you'll be scrubbing the floors yourselves. Clean spells be damned.
You can pair up, or some of you brought your nursemaids with you, I see. [ His eyes cast to the Knights who showed up with their squires. ] Anyone wants a real challenge, you can fight with me.

So. To make things interesting, Thoster begins to whistle a jaunty little tune, almost mocking his own actions- or at least making light of the whole training aspect.]

Guns, bows, or other ranged weapons, you're comin' with me. Let's see what we're working with.
ota!
He has no obvious weapons on himself, so it should prove interesting whoever comes to challenge him.]
I've missed Riddick tags /sob
Don't tell me. You're here to teach us about how to blend in to a crowd.
/sobs, I've missed Myri tags!
Not really on my roster, though if you're looking for pointers I could give you a few. I'm here to be another sparring partner for you new squires.
when she gets home, they will have to catch up
Sparring, huh? Think I've had enough of that for one day. [He rubs the back of his neck, but stops and looks at Riddick oddly.] Does anyone actually take you up on that?
YES!
