[Jack can't help but find it terribly impolite to go knocking on Buffy's bedroom door, no matter what the hour, so instead she received a very brief text transmission on her phone that asked her to come drop by his office at some point during the afternoon, if it was convenient. It isn't as if he doesn't have enough paperwork to keep him in there awhile.

Of course, this all involves... finding his office.]

Okay, tour. I can dig a tour. [ She plants her hands on her hips. ] ... Are we gonna get to see the horses on this tour?

[He smiles as he rounds the desk, looking intrigued] You like horses?

[slay]

Well, it's just kinda novelty. I mean, you know. Big castle, knights; horses are part of the package.

[dragonsclaw]

I'm sure we can make a pit stop.

[slay]

[ Omg was that a smile? She's pretty sure that was a smile. Buffy's grin brightens. ] Really?

[chessing]

I see no reason why not. [And he pushes the door back open, holding it for her.] After you.

[ Out she goes! She kinda lingers in the hallway because like hell is she getting lost again. ]

[Jack will carefully lock his office behind him and then nod to her to follow him.] You've already gotten a chance to see the Research and Development wing, but there's also a general access library around the corner down this way. At the end of that hall is the Dragon's Hoard wing. All of our scientists, researchers, academics, etc. are a part of that sect.

[slay]

Ooh, actually saw that one. [ The Dragon's Hoard. Yay lack of direction. ] So, they're the big on book-learn-y knights? [ The one wing she will never need to know where it is ... and it's the one she stumbled onto and found on her own ... ]

[chessing]

[His lip quirks up at the description] Precisely. They also tend to invent the technology we utilize on missions, making them, of course, indispensable to the cause.

All of the Squire bedrooms are housed down on the first floor as well. The other wing down here is in the furthest corner of the building: the Dragon's Fire. Any users of arcane magic live and work there. Each wing houses the office of the sect head, as well. Sir Hasmed is in charge of the Fire section, and Sir Trinall is the head of the Hoard.

I'm never gonna remember all these names. How do all these knights fit around the round table, anyway?

[dragonsclaw]

It's very rare that we all gather at once for a meeting. There are usually no more than twenty five Knights in the Round at any time.

[slay]

I'm just saying. Maybe they should upgrade. To, like, a round auditorium.

[chessing]

We'll consider that during future renovations.

[slays]

Good. I'm telling you, a seminar with all the knights together, some team-building exercises -- it could change everything for you. And it all starts with a round auditorium. [ A beat. ] ... I guess they just call those amphitheaters, huh?

[chessing]

Generally. [He steers her back towards the lobby, gesturing at the steps] Upstairs, you'll find our training areas for combat readiness, as well as the Dragon's Hide, run by Sir Ironsides, the Dragon's Tongue, led by Sir Koraith, and the Dragon's Light, headed by Sir Solace.

Our fighters, diplomats, and clerics, respectively.

What's with the dragon theme, anyway? I mean, was it just 'cause they're way cool, or -- [ She stops, realizing that it seems like she's not paying attention to the important stuff at all, then sighs. ] Hide means macho guys, tongue's for fast-talkers and light's for medical. Got it.

[chessing]

It's part of Wynn's bloodline: the silver dragon. [He says this very matter-of-factly, looking back at her to size up her appraisal]

... Precisely. [And then gestures to the front doors] Shall we?

[slays]

We shall. [ She pushes the doors open, holding one for him as she steps out of the castle. ] Bloodline. So, does Wynn have family in the Knighthood, too? I mean, Andie said this was kind of a legacy thing for her. [ She raises a hand up to shield her eyes from the sun as she looks out at the ... bleak and winter-y English landscape. Still majestic, ok, fuck you. ] You know. Siblings. Parents. Maybe a shiftless uncle.

[Jack seems to find a lot of humor in that sentence and tries to contain a laugh as they move down the large marble steps. His gaze rakes over the big statues of dragons flanking the staircase.]

He does. All descendants of his, actually, and most of them aren't stationed here in England anymore. Fredrick Jr. is, as well as Fredrick's shiftless uncle.

... Descendants? As in ... The children kind of descendants? Wynn has those?

[chessing]

I'm not entirely clear on the details, but I believe Wynn himself only had one child. However, dragonblooded humans have considerably longer life spans than we do. His family has had plenty of time to ... branch out.

[slay]

How weird has that gotta be? I mean, Thanksgiving must be crazy huge. What with all the great-great-great-great-great-great-grandkids. Plus spouses and -- ... Wow.

[chessing]

[Hesitantly:] Most of the family has stayed within the Knighthood, which, unfortunately, lends itself to a casualty rate. Particularly because of their tendency to join the Dragon's Hide, which sees more battle than the majority of the Knighthood.

[slays]

Must be hard for him. To see them all ... [ She tucks her chin and averts her gaze for a long moment, then looks back at him. ] So, does he have a wife? Is there a Mrs. Silver Dragon helping run the castle?
