[Francesca figures it's been a couple weeks since her resurrection and she should probably meet with Wynn to discuss it all. She's also slightly concerned with some peoples' reactions to her death and wants his advice.

So, she sets up a meeting time with him and heads to the formal Round Table Room at the appropriate time.]

[She focuses on not fidgeting under his scrutiny and instead offers him a smile.] I'm doing quite well, yes. The consistency of the castle has helped.

What else of that man, Pyotr Yakovlev? How is he faring?

[wynn]

He suffered no ill at the hands of the drow, beyond the psychological impact of what he experienced. But he's a resilient man, and wasted no time in picking himself up to stand for what he had come to believe in.

He might wish to see you again.

[socialgraces]

I wasn't sure if the knowledge of my resurrection might diminish the effect of the whole situation, but if he wishes to see him, I'd be willing to meet with him. [She feels a tug of something in her stomach and there's a subtle emotional undertone to her voice.] I'm very glad to hear he's doing so well.

[wynn]

He would have died, if not for what you did. He's quite clear on that point.

[socialgraces]

[She looks away, not really sure what to say to that.] I didn't... I only did what was right. I guess I just don't know how anyone in my position could have just watched and not stepped in.

I've been doing this for a long time. It's more than a sense of duty, it's second-nature. I only wish I could have been... more effective, I guess.

[wynn]

Perhaps the most difficult lesson we all must learn: where our limits lie. [ It doesn't sound preachy, either... more like he understands it all too well. ]

[socialgraces]

All the more brought into harsh reality when it ends in death. [She shakes her head lightly.] I don't regret what I did. And I'm glad I didn't bring Arthur and Ethan along. [Her voice builds strength with each word, as if she has to defend her decisions.] They most likely would have met the same fate. [Her stomach turns at the thought.]

[wynn]

We accomplish very little by dwelling in might have beens. What occurred cannot be changed, for better or worse. Simply learned from.

[socialgraces]

I understand that. I suppose my biggest concern is not about what's occurred, but more so how it's affected those involved. [It's so emotionally complicated for her she's trying to formulate all her feelings into coherent thoughts. She's usually very empathetic, and it's only a stronger feeling when emotions are tense. So the last couple weeks have been a bit overwhelming for her.]

It's hard to lose that confidence, both in myself and of others. I worry more about who I may have hurt, or disappointed.

[wynn]

You're concerned for Sir La Krail.

[socialgraces]

[She's obviously taken aback and flounders for a second.] Well, um, yes, I suppose. Among others. Well, really, just him, I guess.

I suppose I should have listened to him to begin with. But, as you said, there's no point dwelling in what's passed. I only wish he could see it that way.

[wynn]

Dwelling tends to be in his nature, I fear. Something I've never had much hope of grinding out of him entirely.

[socialgraces]

I couldn't tell if he was angry, or disappointed, or felt guilty. I don't know what he was thinking... and I haven't seen him in weeks, so I don't even know how he's doing.

I just don't understand what he wants from me.

[wynn]

I'd imagine what he wants from you is for you to live.

Perhaps he hasn't figured out a means of expressing as much.

[socialgraces]

Right. [Well, that makes it all seem really simple. And dumb.] I suppose it doesn't have to be all that complicated. And he's said as much, I guess. [But now that she's alive, he wants to avoid her... sigh.]

[wynn]

On the contrary. It might be the most complicated of all things.

[socialgraces]

[She looks back up at him, confused.] Being alive, as opposed to dead, isn't really all that complicated. But I take it you're referring to actually living, and not just breathing.

[wynn]

Precisely. [ He traces one hand across the grooved surface of the table, the words etched there. ] To live is to struggle, to aim towards peace but rarely find it, and to find acceptance in the small victories.

[socialgraces]

I've been settling for all that for over a century now. What about the things that make life worth the struggle? What about family, what about love? [She seems to be asking herself these questions as well as directing them at him. She knows that's how he works these conversations anyway.] Unfortunately, it's not something that can be forced, or really even chosen. You just have to wait.

[wynn]

I don't imagine it was merely your death that stirred these thoughts on. You've been having them for some time.

[socialgraces]

I felt as if something was missing, yes. All of this merely put it into perspective I suppose. Made it seem more urgent.

But perhaps it's a crazy notion, especially given what I am. And what I do.

[wynn]

No one has asked you to forsake your personal desires to be a member of this organization.

[socialgraces]

[She instantly tenses.] I know, that's not what I meant. I just meant personally I don't know what I'm expecting.

[wynn]

That, unfortunately, I cannot tell you.

[socialgraces]

I didn't expect you to. [She looks down sheepishly.] I just over-think everything.

And I'm not really sure why I'm talking to you about all this. [She smirks at her ridiculousness.] I really just came here for a debriefing.
